Damon's POV
My mother's gaze remained fixed on me, not once acknowledging Lana who stood frozen halfway up the staircase, her face a mask of disbelief at the ultimatum just delivered.
"Lana, go pack your things," I said, keeping my eyes locked with my mother's. "We'll deal with our mother when she's in a more reasonable mood."
An hour later, I drove away from my parents' estate with my siblings in tow. My mother hadn't even bothered to say farewell to her daughter—a classic power play. She was simply applying pressure, something she excelled at. No one could wield emotional manipulation like my mother, especially when it came to my sister.
"Damon, she hates me now!" Lana sobbed in the backseat as we headed toward the airport. "What am I supposed to do?"
