Stella's POV
I was giggling at one of Atlas's ridiculous jokes when Adrian eased himself onto the lounge chair beside me, his expression unreadable.
"Time to put some sunscreen on you, handsome," I said playfully, reaching out my hand expectantly. Instead of the bottle, Adrian placed something rectangular and lightweight in my palm.
My stomach dropped when I recognized the package of pregnancy tests. The very ones I'd hidden away yesterday. Blood rushed to my face as I sat up straight, my mouth suddenly parched.
"You found them," I whispered, my voice barely audible.
"Yes, I did," Adrian replied, his tone unnervingly even. "Care to explain?"
"Adrian, I..." The words caught in my throat as anxiety coursed through me.
His eyes bore into mine. "I really need to know, Stella. Whose are they?"
"They're mine," I admitted, meeting his gaze as tears threatened to spill over.
"Yours?" His expression shifted slightly. "Does that mean..."
