Patterson's POV
I gazed out the window while Naomi prattled on about bumping into Adrian at some club. The idea of those two reconnecting actually worked in my favor. Naomi was nothing but a money-hungry opportunist, and Adrian remained as gullible as ever. She could keep him occupied while I made my move on Stella.
It was almost comical remembering when Adrian first introduced Naomi years ago. The fool was completely besotted while she cheated right under his nose. What an entertaining spectacle that had been, watching him oblivious to her true nature.
"Patterson? Are you even listening?" Naomi's voice pulled me from my thoughts.
"You should definitely pursue Adrian again," I replied, still fixated on the view outside.
"That's exactly what I just said!" She sounded pleased. "And honestly, it's hardly a sacrifice. He looks even better than when we were together."
"And his bank account looks considerably healthier too," I remarked, which visibly excited her.
