The sky wept blood. The rain turned red.
The clouds were red. The rain, blood dropped on the ground, turning the ground red. The plants were red too. Everyone who stepped out of their houses found themselves red.
The slaves were covered with blood — questioning if it, is blood. Many were terrified. All their faces turned gloomy as their jaws slackened. The guard was also shocked, wondering what in the world had happened, to cause this phenomenon.
'I bet those scientist at the lab knows what is happening.' The Guard thought.
Everywhere they looked, they saw red.
Kiya was also fascinated, having witness an unknown, yet interesting phenomenon.
"THE DEMONS GOT RELEASED." One of the slave shouted.
Everyone looked at the delusional slave, thinking if what he said was true. Everyone looked frightened.
Kiya held one hand out trying to catch one drop. A droplet did fall on Kiya's hand.
"It is blood." Kiya said.
"What? How is blood raining out of the sky? How do you know it IS blood?" Genzo asked.
"Well, I mean, it is thick, is a liquid, is red and smells like it."
"You can smell blood?"
"Yeah, I knew it was blood, it has that smell."
"How is blood even falling out of the sky?"
Kiya shrugged, after all, he was just as confused as everyone else. Genzo was also shook at this unexpected event that was taking place right in front of very own eyes. He never woke up, expecting to see blood raining from the sky. All Genzo wanted was a peaceful, effortless life.
Many other slaves heard their conversation and panicked. Blood raining from the skies meant that something was going on. They, for a second believed the delusional slave's delusional ideas.
The delusional slave fell down, placing his head on his head. He was murmuring something.
"The world is done for…. The world is done for…. I'm going to die…. I'm doing to die."
The delusional slave repeated these words, he was sweating buckets as tears started rolling down his face. He was in his 50s and skinny. He had been useless ever since his life began, he tried to commit suicide but was too scared. Hoping to die at least accomplishing something in his life, he joined the army, where he was injured and on the verge of death, that's when they found him and made him a slave.
The slaves also panicked, hearing his words.
"HEY, NO ONE IS GOING TO DIE. IF ANYONE DID, THERE WILL BE CONSEQUENCES WORSE THAN DEATH."
The guard yelled angrily.
"WE ARE GOING TO TAKE CAMP AT A CABIN NEARBY."
As Hitleck said, the prison has a huge gap between the warden's office and the A and B block. The gap is more than 35 km. Why? The first reason is the nobles were too rich and brought this much land, and since it is a wasteland, it was relatively cheap. The second reason is that the warden plays with his 'pets' at night, they need a lot of space to 'play'.
There are several cabins built to protect the security from them and to operate as a storage place. Every cabin and buildings are covered with barriers. The nobles first had an idea of building trams, but the coating of an inanimate, moving object was very difficult, and even if they did, it would be weak.
The slaves walked, no, ran lightly, it was more like jogging. Everyone was starving and became dehydrated. The guard had no problem, as he had prepared a bag with food and water. No one could rebel, as the guard had a gun and enough ammunition to take out each one of them. He was riding a horse and enjoying the fresh air.
Some of the slaves were sitting on the ground unable to move, some vomitted.
"How… long do we... have to walk?" Genzo asked, visibly tired and out of breath.
"I…. Don't…. Know." Kiya said, also tired.
The slaves had walked about 8 km, they had about 2 more km before they reach the cabin.
"ALRIGHT, WE HAVE ONLY ABOUT 2 KM TO GO, THEN WE WILL REACH THE CABIN."
The guard yelled, unknowingly answering Genzo and Kiya's question.
Everyone felt a sense of relief, but also did not want to walk 2 more kilometres.
"Fuu, I can't walk anymore." Genzo sighed.
"Me… too."
As both of them sat down for a while, they saw that Hitleck was not out of breath at all.
"Hey look at that guy." Genzo said.
"Hitleck, right?"
"Yeah, he is not even a bit tired."
"Is he like an athlete or something?"
"Maybe."
"Where is Frederick?"
"Hmm, There!" He searched for a while before pointing his finger at Frederick.
"Why is he on the far end?"
"He can run from wherever he pleases, can't he?"
"Yeah, but I thought Hitleck and him were friends. He is running on the other side from where Hitleck is at."
"Yes, it is true."
"Are they competing?"
Frederick seemed to have been competing with Hitleck and his inhumane stamina. Fred looked at Hitleck for second indicated that he would win no matter what! His motivation seemed to be clear.
"This rain isn't stopping whatsoever." Kiya said.
"Yes, what could be the cause of this type of bizarre situation?"
At that moment, the rain seemed to settle down.
"I thinks it's beginning to settle down."
"Seems to."
"HEY, GET UP, WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?"
The guard noticed the two of them sitting down, enjoying the break.
"Oh shit." Genzo said.
The both of them got up and started to continue running. Running was a bit difficult with chained hands.
They ran for nearly 30 minutes before they reached the cabin. They guard tied his horse in the stables and walked out signaling the slaves to follow him inside.
The cabin was basic, with a stable and a ward wooden log about 4 foot tall. The cabin had one floor. Everything was basic except for the glow outside, it was not visible in the night but the light produced by the lamp the guard was holding reflected on the glow revealing it for a brief moment. The guard took out something resembling a card, he pressed it against the wooden log.
As the card pressed onto the wooden log, a hole appeared in the glow/barrier. The guard signalling the slaves to follow him inside. The slaves followed him inside, and as they walked inside, the rain stopped.
The Sky's Cries Were Over.
