*Hazel's POV*
I woke up surrounded by nothing. Not darkness, not light—just nothing.
An endless, vacant space stretched around me, devoid of color or form. My body seemed to float in this bizarre emptiness, yet I could feel something solid beneath my feet.
"Hello?" My voice didn't echo. It dropped like a stone, swallowed by the void.
I took a cautious step forward. The nothingness rippled like water, sending small waves of distortion outward from where my foot touched down. Another step caused the same effect.
"Where am I?" I whispered, more to myself than anything else.
"Nowhere particular." A voice answered from behind me.
I spun around, my heart leaping into my throat. A man stood there—tall, elegant, and utterly beautiful in a way that wasn't quite human. His features kept shifting subtly, as if I was viewing him through rippling water.
"Who are you?" I demanded, backing away.
His smile widened. "A friend. Maybe. Or an enemy. Depends on your perspective."
