"So that's what happened…"
In the middle of the city, Angela was tending to Enrico, healing him and bandaging some wounds already cured just to make sure he would be fine. The others, also a bit injured, sat around with Verlate being the only one standing since he hadn't fought much, and Nyxaria seemed the most distant, sitting far away clutching her knees. The battle, at least in this dimension, was over, and the vampires in the distance carried the captured enemies to the cells, planning to celebrate only when their leader and Solin returned.
"It seems the rebellion worked."
"Of course, my father is on the side of the rebellion."
"But your father is somewhere else…"
Ysabella Valessia stood in front of her looking much better than in past days, but the shocking thing was that the girl was covered in blood, and Angela was certain it wasn't her own.
"Looks like your revenge turned out well."
"If it hadn't, I'd rather be dead."
It was somewhat unsettling to have her in front with that expression of having accomplished one of the best things in her life, but considering she was a vampire, Angela let that discomfort go. Enrico, completely covered in bandages, was trying to think of a way to escape Angela's extreme care, so he continued the subject of revenge to see if it interested her.
"You only need to avenge yourself against Draven."
"That leech will be killed by my father anyway, especially when he drinks that blood… by the way, are you sure you don't have any more?"
"Absolutely."
"Tsk, useless."
Yumeha, with her mask properly on, punched her in the head for insulting her master. Feeling the blow, Ysabella stood to fight.
"If you want to fight someone above your level, you just had to say so, leech?"
"My master's master said if you hit him or me, you won't get any blood from our dear donor."
Hearing those words, she immediately sat down and suddenly wanted to be very friendly with the two. Seeing the obvious about what she was after, Enrico decided to stop Angela once and for all.
"Angela, I'm fine, you don't need to worry so much about me."
"You're going to be Lady's disciple, so of course I need to do my best to keep your body at zero percent."
"If we look at those—"
Hearing Yumeha about to reveal a secret she kept, Angela gave her a murderous glare that said she would kill her if she revealed it.
'Just like I did with Rina and Aoi, I should've told her not to enter there… what shame.'
She was starting to fidget in embarrassment at someone discovering her secret; she had kept it so well until now.
'It's not my fault my lady and the young master are so interesting.'
Angela always liked one thing: people her lady's family was interested in, so she could be useful by helping them. So when she learned Virelle wanted Enrico as a disciple, she kept an eye on him even when not ordered.
The only problem was that she spent so much time following him on some adventures that she respected him greatly, especially seeing him so eager to get stronger.
'When he gives that smile of enjoyment, I enjoy it too.'
A sly smile appeared for a second on her face before returning to normal. Her interest was to see how far he would go, especially his adventures, which she had always wanted to have as a child but never could.
"Sir Sylas, may I ask a question?"
Valen came closer to Enrico, sitting beside him nervously. His hands trembled as he blushed in embarrassment. Yumeha, on the other side, already felt danger approaching.
"Of course, you may ask."
"When will we be able to see the owner of the blood?"
"Geez, you ask so many questions. In the future, you'll see, in the future."
Completely disheartened, he got up without caring about Sylas and kicked a stone. Yumeha, who was coming closer, sighed in relief. Valen turned back and walked up to Enrico again.
"Sir Sylas, could you deliver this letter to him?"
"What is this?"
"A confession. I don't know if he's a man or a woman, but I'll accept either since I don't have that problem."
A gust of wind blew over everyone as Valen ran away embarrassed. Finding it amusing, Enrico kept the letter to read later, which made Yumeha's head explode with rage at Valen. But the one really preparing to chase him was Ysabella.
"That bastard wants to steal my food? I won't forgive him."
"What do you mean, food?"
Before the conversation went further, a change seemed to occur in the vampires' dimension. It was a powerful shift, and they all sweated at the level of magic simply impossible to calculate.
"What is that?"
"Young master, stay behind me."
"…That's a lot of power, but don't worry, isn't it Ysabella?"
"Yes, I recognize it's my father's magic, and that means…"
Ysabella's eyes were shining at such power coming from her father. The surprising thing was that the two emissaries had gone to the original world, which meant the power was so great it could be felt in another dimension.
"So that's the level of a tenth circle… if this had been done in this dimension, it might have collapsed…"
"The only problem is that it was the vampires who gained this power, young master…"
"Don't worry. I don't know if the rebellious leeches will really improve our race a little, but my father will certainly repay."
Nodding, Enrico lay down wanting to sleep a little after his body was healed and stopped hurting. He didn't need to worry because this fight was already decided as soon as Solin evolved his circle.
'Now with my mission complete, I can just rest.'
[It's a pity, but the effect of the pact will begin in five minutes, so you'd better prepare.]
"…Guys, I need to go to a room to sleep peacefully, so when Lord Solin returns, tell him."
Seeing Enrico run off, they looked at each other for a moment before turning their attention back to waiting for Solin's return. Meanwhile, the girls Yumeha, Rina, Aoi, and Angela were worried, so they prepared to follow him.
