"What pain…"
Enrico was on the ground, his clothes almost completely torn, having survived thanks to his pact ability Skin Beyond Iron. His body ached intensely, and on top of that, he had to worry about what the effect of that absurd pact would be to increase his percentage so much.
'My percentage rose this much, so the side effect must be a disaster.'
Enrico then noticed several blood blades descending upon him and stood up to dodge. Those blades began to chase him around the room.
"Wait, he's alive?"
Taking a step back with difficulty, he grabbed a chair behind him and placed it in front of the blades, which shattered upon hitting it.
"This magic of Angela's is simply absurd. Seriously, can a simple chair be used as a shield?"
Putting the chair in front of him, he looked to where Vladimir was, and seeing him truly dead on the ground, he realized that must have been the last thing he did to try to kill Enrico along with him.
"Even in your last moment you hated me… I guess at least that much I can respect from you."
Approaching, he incinerated the body completely, leaving no trace. He wasn't going to give any chance of that corpse rising as a zombie.
'So that was your judgment.'
"A voice?"
He looked around in all directions, seeing no one. Everything was clear, but he wasn't about to let it slide, so he asked the system, which replied it hadn't heard anything.
"There's no way I'm going crazy…"
[If you ask me, I think you are crazy.]
"If I asked you anything truly important, that would be a disaster."
Feeling his body heavy, he collapsed to the ground where the corpse had been before incineration. His hands trembled with the effect of Skin Beyond Iron intensifying. He had forced himself to dodge while under its effects, so by straining his body, the pain worsened.
The door opened, and Yumeha, wearing her Corvina mask, entered and quickly reached him, carefully helping him up.
"Thank you. We need to go see how the others are."
"Yes, Master. And as always, you evolved again—that's incredible."
Smiling faintly, he leaned on Yumeha since his body couldn't hold him up, taking one last glance at the place where Vladimir had died, sighing in relief.
'Goodbye, Pedro… and please don't think of reincarnating again.'
Outside, Angela and Morvus battled in the dark sky with their full power. Since they didn't want to destroy the continent, they fought high above the ground, and also because they were in another dimension and not the original world, which could withstand clashes of this level.
"Elyssar Destruction"
"Crimson Plague Magic: Fetid Mist"
A pillar of purple magic rose from Angela's hand, while Morvus created a blood mist in both hands, concentrating mana before launching his attack. A giant shockwave spread, covering the entire continent, making lower-level battles across it stop.
"You should give up, because all the other eighth-circle companions are dead."
"…If they died, then we'll just choose better counselors."
This battle was already on a level far above the others. At least some counselor from one of the territories should have come, but since none appeared, they must have been killed by surprise attacks from the rebellion vampires of the eighth circle.
"Hemoplague"
Drops of blood spread through the air across the continent. Raising his hand, he launched an attack at the entire continent, rushing at high speed toward the enemies.
"Barrier of Elyssar"
Pointing both hands downward, a barrier covered the entire continent, withstanding the rain of attacks. She had already taken that spell to the arm once, and it was devastating and poisonous, paralyzing her arm for a while before she managed to heal it.
"Venomous Domain"
Creating a massive area of mist, Angela felt her body being infected, her cells beginning to disintegrate into dust. Gritting her teeth, she covered her body with her magic, constantly healing her cells. Morvus began shaping some of the mist into various weapons, launching them all at her.
"You're not the only one who can create a domain."
From Angela's body, a purple magic engulfed all the mist, clearing everything. She clenched her hand, and a hole opened behind Morvus. From that hole, his own magic, combined with Angela's, struck him, dragging him through the sky.
This magic was called Absorption Domain, capable of taking the opponent's power and adding it to her own, transferring it through a rift she created in the air to unleash a devastating attack.
"It's not over yet, leech!"
Morvus crashed down hard between two territories. In the air, he tried to stop himself, managing to just before hitting the ground. His body was covered in blood and wounds, but he looked upward, ready to launch an attack.
"This is the final blow."
When he realized it, Angela already had both hands on his stomach. Twisting them, Morvus' body was split in half, only managing to let out a final scream before vanishing completely.
A massive explosion spread, reaching both territories. Of course, she made sure it wouldn't touch where the allied vampires were.
"Huff… Looks like I caused quite a disaster… In a way, it's good there aren't as many vampires scattered across this continent as in our world."
Below her, a seven-thousand-kilometer crater had formed, with a hole so deep it couldn't be seen to the bottom. She had gone overboard, but to defeat an opponent of the same level, multiple attacks like that were necessary.
"I've already thrown plenty of these attacks into the sky… That's why I hate these vampires—they're so damn hard to kill."
Of course, she wasn't saying that was the only reason she hated them. It was something that simply infuriated her and all mages, because it was so difficult to deal with their cursed regeneration.
"Very well, time to see how the young master and the others are doing."
Her body was completely covered in wounds, but nothing was more important than Enrico's safety in that place. She had even placed a spell within his bracelet that would save him if he were about to die.
"Seems like you didn't need it… Good job, young master."
