Chapter 158 - Effect of the Sacrifice Pact

As soon as he arrived in a room of the castle, he sat on the bed. He didn't know what was going to happen with this effect, but it would be horrible given the high level he had managed to reach.

[Don't worry about the others, they won't find out even if they see you.]

"Alright…"

Calming himself, he waited for the moment to come, and each passing second felt like an eternity. Feeling his body weaken, he started to get sleepy, then collapsed on the bed unconscious, even beginning to make the sounds of someone asleep.

"Master… he really fell asleep."

"Good, I was worried when he ran off."

"My Ketsumei is strong, so I wasn't worried."

"Lady Rina shouldn't tell lies so easy to see through."

Whistling, Rina began heading into a room to the left of his door, since she had to restart the training Enrico gave her. Aoi quickly ran into a room to the right. Angela looked inside with some concern, but she needed to take care of all of them in case some vampire came to attack them. Even with this victory, she would never fully trust a vampire.

'I want to see many of your adventures, young master, so stay well…'

Leaning against the wall, she kept guard together with Yumeha, who closed the door and stood in front holding her katana.

"What place is this?"

[This will be the hell you'll have to endure… I wished they had reduced some things, but it wasn't possible.]

"It's fine, I'll accept whatever they throw at me."

Enrico was surrounded by a completely red place, with rivers of blood and a dark red sky. Everything had a horrific appearance, with twisted trees, and even the air leaking from them was poisoned.

"…So what's going to happen?"

[It's already coming.]

A wave of what seemed like souls enveloped him, sucking every drop of blood and vitality from his body, making his skin crack. Feeling devastating pain, he realized his body was becoming paler and closer to death.

"AAAAHHHHH"

All the veins in his body exploded, but no blood came out. He had to try damaging other parts of his body to lessen the pain from the veins and his own vitality.

Seconds passed, minutes passed, hours slowly went by, what seemed like days also passed, and finally weeks—but the pain never went away, worsening every second. During all that time, the 100 souls never stopped circling around him, continuing to devour his vitality.

'Do I have that much vitality?'

It wasn't simply that; every time something was taken, the pact refilled it again, which was why his vitality never ended. The very blood they drank from him reappeared in his body but never really escaped because of the speed and the number of vampire souls consuming it.

'I don't know how long I've been here.'

[Three weeks, just hold on a little longer.]

During that time, he couldn't even sleep, and the system tried talking to him occasionally to keep his mind sane. He tried closing his eyes but couldn't, since even that simple movement caused pain.

'How much longer?'

[Five minutes.]

'That's good.'

Feeling it was about to end, he tried as much as possible to keep his mind calm, but it didn't work well. He couldn't even speak anymore, having screamed so much that his voice disappeared.

'How much longer?'

[Four minutes… if you keep asking, it will be even worse for you.]

'You're right.'

The souls seemed intent on making him suffer, spinning even faster than before, causing a huge tremor in his body showing signs of shock.

'Just a little more, just a little more, just a little more…'

When the time ended, the pain vanished completely, leaving him in peace, the souls disappearing without a trace. With a faint light in his eyes, he tried his best not to move.

'How many times will this happen?'

[Once a week.]

'On top of fire cancer, I'll have to endure this? Damn, at least the cancer is only once a week…'

He closed his eyes and tried to sleep. He didn't care about anything else, only about sleeping his six hours, which he had declared for himself in his new training.

[He's fully asleep, and that's good… it would be better if they didn't interfere, but I must be patient.]

Saying this, the system disappeared, and Enrico floated peacefully in a deep sleep. Opening his eyes, he saw himself in the room but couldn't move his body.

'Was the damage transferred to my real body?'

[Yes, everything you received there was transferred to your body. Besides that, a bit of your physique was taken from you, but it was little. You can recover in time before having to endure other days like these.]

'So now I'll have to get fewer rewards than I would if I trained my physique? What hell.'

He raised his hand, seeing it trembling nonstop, even though it looked normal now. His body still felt the pain, as if the wounds were real.

'How long was I unconscious in the real world?'

[Three hours.]

'Just that? I'll go back to sleep then, I need to rest after this.'

[You deserve to rest more…]

Closing his eyes, he goes back to sleep, this time calmly and peacefully, without any worries, because Angela must be taking care of everyone and while he sleeps, he will think about how to improve even more.
