"Refuge of Elyssar"
Everyone who was below Angela's power in that place, along with some of Morvus' subordinates who had arrived as Nyxaria's master, completely disappeared, leaving only her and Morvus in that place.
"What did you do with them and my son?"
"I simply did as my young master asked and sent them somewhere else."
"Bring them back, human."
"...as always, you think you're superior to us."
Grabbing the bracelet, she put it on her wrist and quickly appeared behind him with a purple magic emanating from her hand. Turning just in time, he summoned a hard blood shield to defend himself.
"Explosive Mana Concentration"
The moment that attack hit his shield, it shattered quickly, and a greater explosion made the city tremble, dragging him out of the city. Looking at himself, he noticed his arm was broken in half.
All along the path he had been dragged, there was a huge crater with no visible end, and a quarter of the city had vanished from the map. Managing to regenerate his arm thanks to his vampiric regeneration, he glared furiously ahead, seeing Angela calmly walking toward him.
"You'll pay for this."
"I don't think that's possible... well, it's been a while since I fought someone at my level, so I'll give it my all."
Both stared at each other, preparing their magic in their hands without taking their eyes off their opponent's movements. Neither would back down from the next attack.
'I hope the young master is safe.'
Inside the bracelet, everyone fell into a wooden house. It was strange, because everything outside seemed to be transmitted inside—through the windows, it was possible to watch Angela and Morvus' fight. It was clear that Angela had not created a dimension, but simply made a safe place inside the bracelet.
"Blood Thorns"
Malakar tried to break the house they were in but saw that it didn't have a single scratch. Ready to move back, without realizing it, a kick from Valen—under Sylas' command—hit Malakar's face, sending him to the first floor of that three-story house.
"As promised, he's all yours, Ysabella."
"Leave it to me."
Ysabella jumped to that lower floor and Ozymir followed immediately. Jumping after him, Verlate pursued, landing a kick that slammed him into the wall by the staircase.
"Nyxaria, take your master and try to convince him. If you can't, kill him. Understood?"
"Is that an order from the Lord of Blood?"
"No, it's mine."
Nyxaria saw her master looking at her with disgust. He was one of Morvus' most loyal followers, so he immediately tried to help him and ended up entering the place with them. Snapping her fingers, a blood sphere tried to capture her master.
"Please, that would never catch me."
Moving away, he reached near the window. Preparing an attack, he was about to invoke his magic when his hands were suddenly bound by blood tentacles.
"Wait, isn't this too fast for someone of your level?"
"Sorry, master, but someone made me evolve—unlike you."
She approached with a sad look that seemed to irritate him even more, making him burst with magic and break the tentacles.
"I'll kill you, traitor!"
"I understand, master."
Behind them, Rina and Aoi entered a room, fighting together against a vampire girl with a sadistic smile. She was a granddaughter of another counselor, almost reaching circle three.
"How lucky I am to have to fight two meals."
"You're quite ugly."
"Yes, she really is."
"What?"
She looked at the two, surprised, and exploded with rage. One of the things she hated most was being called ugly. She lunged at both, but they managed to dodge.
"As Enrico said, she's very easy to irritate."
"Yes, but I have to admit she's not that ugly. More like… average."
"You—!"
The two smiled as they dodged the enraged girl's attacks. Enrico had told them, while they were in the bracelet the previous night, that even if someone was of average appearance, she hated being called ugly. This girl even despised being called average.
"He knows so many things."
"That must mean she was somehow important to the vampires' future."
"Then, as he asked, let's kill her."
Demonic smiles appeared on their faces, making the girl stop for an instant. She felt something was wrong with these two, for they didn't seem human. It was clear that, like the other humans, they hated them with all their being.
Corvina and Sylas were fighting their two opponents, leading them to the third floor, then splitting off in different directions. Striking several raven feathers at her opponent—another counselor's grandson—Corvina ended up facing him in a room full of paintings of Virelle and Enrico, which left her stunned.
"Lady Angela was this kind of person?"
"Where are you looking, damn you?"
She managed to dodge in time from a blood spear flying at her. Crouching to the ground, she pushed herself up, spinning as several feathers burst from her body.
"Cutting Wings"
Catching him by surprise, she pierced his side. Even though he regenerated afterwards, she could tell it hurt.
"My master left you to me, so I can't disappoint him."
"Damn it!"
Meanwhile, Sylas and Vladimir clashed, one with his fists, the other with a blood sword. Sylas was the first to retreat as the sword's strength suddenly increased.
"So, Sylas, why this attack?"
"Let's just say my master doesn't like how the vampires are in this era."
They stared at each other with a certain recognition, though neither knew why. In that fight, both wondered why they felt that way.
'Could it really be him?'
'If he's someone reincarnated like me? This feeling, could it be…'
