Chapter 1 - Grand Opening

"I can finally open my cafe."

Icura, a tall but not the tallest thin build with a bit some muscles black haired young man with dark brown eyes and light yellow-ish skin wearing a rectangle black colored templed glasses in the usual cafe workers attire walks downstairs from his apartment to his newly prepared cafe at six in the evening.

He looks around the decent sized room with tables and chairs organized at different spots. The walls are mostly made of concrete, there is a big window for view from the outside, right beside it is a wooden door that are made of dark brown high quality carved woods that Icura doesn't know the type, carved same type of wood also aesthetically carved and placed as a molding. I forgot what type of wood the designer told me thoseare, it is expensive though.

The cafe is illuminated with several yellow-ish lamps on the walls and one chandelier of the same color of light.

Icura approached the big window, he flipped a sign that from outside seen as "Closed" to "Open". Next to the sign is a notice paper. "No alcohol. There is no foods yet, only different kinds of coffee and tea." I don't want to deal any drunks in my cafe, and i don't have the manpower to make any food. "Sigh. I spent a lot of money for this building and cafe, but it's lacking content. I wonder if i can even recover the money for this, oh well."

Icura walks behind the cafe counter and sit on the one seat for him. I still have some money, thanks to my grandpa's inheritance. On top the counter are some tools, the inside of the counter is where most of the tools for the cafe are placed. The counter has enough space for five customers to sit and have a conversation with the worker. Which currently, it's only him.

He is careful to pick workers for his cafe, there is several things that he wanted to keep hidden, which including what he, himself is, a Beyonder.

Icura took some deep breaths. Charles Erd, my grandfather was a sequence 9 beyonder of the Reader pathway. He knows and thaught me a lot of things, including mysticism even since i was 5 along with my grandmother.

Years ago, when Icura was 10, a very bad storm strikes the ship him and his family was on. Icura's parents and grandma's body weren't found, while Icura and his grandpa survived and coming back home.

My grandpa passed away just a month ago, he asked me to consumed his characteristic and gave me the formula for the sequence 8 potion. Now i am a sequence 9 beyonder of the Reader pathway. Sometimes i wonder why he stays at sequence 9.

Icura moved from his town to this city just a week ago, legally. He is trying to find the ingredients for sequence 8 Student of Ratiocination potion and decided to make a cafe while at it. I lied about my age, i hope i don't get any trouble because of it.

While Icura still deep in his thoughts, the door of the cafe opened. Someone has enterred.

Icura turned around and see a man in a gray suit with red tie and gray top-hat.

Icura stood up. "Welcome to the Cafe of the End."

The man approach the counter his voice is soft but kinda deep. "One cup of coffee with milk, please. Thank you." The man took a seat on the counter seat.

"It'll be ready in a moment." Icura then brew the latte with a decent coffee beans.

The man took off his hat and put it on his lap. "A new cafe?" Asked the man in a casual-formal manners.

Icura nodded as he worked. "Yes. In fact, you're our first ever customer here." Icura used the pronounce 'our' instead of 'my' to not sound prideful.

The man nodded back. "Excuse me for asking, but why the name 'Cafe of the End'?"

"Oh, it's because i like ominous things, hence the name." Icura answered frankly as he served the cup of coffee the man ordered. "Here is your order, sir."

The man accepted the answer. "Thank you." He then proceeds to enjoy his coffee.

Icura served more customers after the first ever customer left. In these 6 hours, the most customer he got at a time are 5 customers but a total of 21 customers.

At 12 past 11, someone enters the cafe. A six feet tall man in a black suit and colorful tie of red and orange, he has relatively broad shoulders with medium beard and mustache of an average looking face.

"One tea plus some bread, please. Been running around delivering bread." The bearded man tiredly casual ordered.

"I'm sorry, but we doesn't serve any food yet." Icura points at another one of the same notice paper that is also on the wall behind him, he's prepared in case something like this happened.

"What? No food? Not even bread?" The bearded man that already took a seat on the counter seat confusedly asked.

"Yes. We doesn't have any worker to make any food, it's currently only me here. And we also doesn't have bread stocker yet." Icura responded politely.

"No bread stocker? Cool coincidence, i am a bread delivery man from the best bread company in this city. We can deliver bread to your cafe." The bearded man smiled.

Icura surprised. "Oh? Then can your company deliver bread to this cafe everytime it's open?" Icura doesn't waste the opportunity.

The bearded man chuckled. "Of course we can, my boss will be happy." The bearded man stood up and grab something from his suit's pocket. "Here is our business card. My name is Murphy Carlson."

Icura took the business card and inspect it for a bit. "Thank you." Icura shook the man's waiting hand. "My name is Icura Vodi."

After serving the bearded man and waiting for him to leave, Icura approached the big mirror to the hanging sign and he flipped it.

"Closed"
