Chapter 79 - Chapter 79 Information about Infinity Stones

After Diana left yesterday, S.H.I.E.L.D. immediately mobilized agents around the world, trying to locate a place that matched what they saw through the spatial rift.

They found nothing.

Not even a trace of the giant—if it truly existed, it would be impossible to hide.

So Coulson had reached a conclusion: Diana was not from Earth, or at least not their Earth.

When Coulson said this, Clark couldn't help but glance at Diana. He had some level of trust in Coulson—after all, S.H.I.E.L.D. wasn't the type to stage elaborate hoaxes just to fool someone like him. If it were fake, it would be easy to expose. After all, where on Earth could they find a real goddess to deceive him?

So the idea that people from other universes were starting to appear in the Marvel world… was surprising, yes—but if what Coulson said was true, then this woman in front of him truly was Princess Diana of Themyscira.

"Can you send me back?" Diana asked.

She clearly remembered Coulson—one of the people who had surrounded her yesterday.

Though they had been enemies then, now that she realized she was in a completely unfamiliar world, she had no choice but to hope they could return her home. After all, it was them who brought her here, right? So if they could pull her into this world… they should be able to send her back.

"I'm sorry," Coulson shook his head, "we can't do that. Not right now."

Honestly, Coulson wished they could transport people safely between worlds. And while S.H.I.E.L.D. was curious about Diana, they were perhaps even more curious about Superman.

Especially Coulson—and those agents who were in the loop—they had a theory.

Based on Agent Annie's report, Diana clearly recognized Clark, and seemed to know he was Superman. That was intriguing. That meant their Clark… was identical to her Superman.

And that wasn't something they could explain away as a coincidence.

"Why not? Wasn't the portal open yesterday?"

Diana was confused. Clearly, the portal had worked once—why not again?

"Technically speaking," Coulson explained, "we didn't open that portal. We don't know why it appeared. That's partly why I'm here today—I want to ask what happened last night.Do either of you have any clues?"

Coulson was being honest—S.H.I.E.L.D. still understood very little about the Tesseract. They only knew it was a source of limitless energy—and under certain conditions, it could create space portals.

"It was the Cube, wasn't it?" Clark asked.

Though Coulson hadn't revealed any details, Clark had already guessed the culprit: the Tesseract.

Clark knew that S.H.I.E.L.D. had been researching it, but had made almost no progress. So hoping they could use it to send Diana home? That was like hoping they could defeat Thanos with a stapler.

In truth, Coulson had come here because of Diana—to see if she knew anything that could explain why the Tesseract had activated itself. They'd had the cube for years—and it had never done anything like this. And then, suddenly, it activated on its own?

But when Clark suddenly said the word "Tesseract," Coulson's heart skipped a beat.

"How do you know about the Tesseract?" he asked.

Clark smiled calmly.

"Relax. I've done my homework."

He could see how tense Coulson had become—after all, information about the Tesseract was classified beyond classified. Even Level 10 agents weren't briefed on it—only those directly involved knew of its existence.

"Actually," Clark continued, "I've read that after the Big Bang, six singularities formed. Each became a gem—the Infinity Stones.Because their power is nearly limitless, each stone has its own unique attribute:Space, Time, Reality, Soul, Mind, and Power."

"Wait…" Coulson looked stunned."You're saying the Tesseract… is one of those stones?"

If Coulson hadn't witnessed the Tesseract open a space portal with his own eyes, he might've laughed. But now, Clark's words felt uncomfortably plausible.

"If I'm right," Clark said, "the Tesseract is the Space Stone. That's why it opened a portal between our worlds—and why Diana ended up here.As for the others… I've only heard the legends. I've never actually seen one."

"You've never seen one?" Diana asked, confused."Didn't you use one to come here?"

While this Clark felt different than her own Clark, his strength was undeniable. He had Superman's power—of that she was sure.

"Well… maybe not?" Clark hesitated.

At first, he wanted to say no confidently—but he stopped himself. His own arrival had been strange, after all.If it weren't for the armor and his hairless body, he might've thought he was born from a meteor like Sun Wukong.

"Coulson, can we… touch the Tesseract?" Diana asked.

After hearing Clark's explanation, Diana wanted to see it for herself.

No matter how familiar this world seemed, it wasn't hers. There was no Bruce Wayne. No Barry Allen. No Hippolyta. No Amazons. No home.

"I'll have to request authorization," Coulson replied.

Under normal circumstances, he would've said no instantly. But things had changed.

Diana's arrival—triggered by the Tesseract itself—meant she could be key to unlocking its secrets.

So instead of shutting her down, he would file an official request.

Of course, there was still a possibility Diana wasn't Wonder Woman. As long as that possibility existed, S.H.I.E.L.D. would remain cautious.

"Understood," Diana nodded.

She wasn't surprised. An agency like S.H.I.E.L.D. wouldn't just let people near objects of power without red tape.

"Clark, uh…" Coulson looked between Clark and Diana, his expression a little awkward.

Clark instantly understood.

Though Coulson said nothing, Clark knew exactly what he meant.
