Chapter 77 - Chapter 77 This chapter has been restored again

Early in the morning, Clark arrived at his flower shop, only to find the door was left open.

"Hmm, that's odd. Did Annie come in early today?"

Lately, Clark hadn't been coming to the shop very often because of some other things going on. Thankfully, he had previously hired a beautiful assistant named Annie. At one point, Clark suspected she might be a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, because she was just too honest.

Especially when he wasn't around—she never even thought of stealing any of the daily sales. After all, Clark didn't have any kind of fancy checkout system. The whole setup was basically cash and carry.

Given that, Clark found it incredible that this woman named Annie never took a dime. So, he began to suspect she was planted by S.H.I.E.L.D..

But ironically, that suspicion only made Clark feel more at ease—after all, if a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent was helping him run the place, there was nothing to worry about.

So when he saw the door was open, his first thought was that his diligent assistant had started work early again.

"Annie, you're up early today!"

But when he stepped inside, he didn't find Annie.Instead, a beautiful stranger was lying on the lounge chair he usually used to rest.

How to describe her…Stunning. Right up Clark's alley. She wore a beige trench coat, tight leather pants, had black hair, black eyes, and a delicate, oval-shaped face.

As Clark entered, the woman on the chair slowly opened her eyes. The two stared at each other in awkward silence.

"Clark? What are you doing here?"

She spoke first, breaking the strange tension. But something about what she said threw Clark completely off.

He understood her words… but not what she meant.

From her tone, two things stood out:

She knew his name, and not the public one—Clark, not Superman.

She seemed genuinely confused about where she was.

But that didn't make any sense. If she really knew Clark, she'd know this was his flower shop. And she wouldn't act like he was the intruder here.

What's more—Clark was sure he'd never seen her before.

With his Kryptonian brain, Clark could recall every detail of his 25 years of life. And this woman? She wasn't in it.

"Who are you? And this is my flower shop. Now do you understand why I'm here?"

Clark looked her over, puzzled. From the way she looked at him, it felt like she genuinely recognized him.Could she be… from the future?

"Your flower shop? But I thought you were… a journalist?"

Hearing that, Diana suddenly seemed to realize something.

After fleeing the S.H.I.E.L.D. base last night, she had tried to figure out where exactly she had landed.

Her first plan had been to rush to Metropolis to help Superman and Batman. But everything here felt… off.

No one had heard of the Doomsday battle. There were no news reports, no online chatter.Nothing at all—despite the fact that the fight had practically destroyed the entire city.

That silence unnerved Diana.

Something was wrong. And now, seeing Clark—the man who looked exactly like Superman—she'd hoped maybe it was all in her head.

But then he responded with just two words:

"Journalist?"

Clark repeated the word, his mind racing. He pieced together her comments and suddenly had a realization.

"This girl… isn't from around here."

Clark Kent, journalist—that was Superman's Earth identity, in the comics.

But in this world, everyone knew Superman was a fictional character created by DC.

"Clark… do you know how I can get to Metropolis?"

Even though she had a bad feeling, Diana still tried to hold onto hope.

"Metropolis? This is New York.I don't think there's a place called Metropolis in the U.S."

Clark answered with a sigh."Such a pity," he thought."She's so beautiful, but… maybe not all there mentally."

"New York…"

Diana murmured. She wasn't into comics, so she didn't realize how famous that name was among fans, thanks to DC's world-building.

Though both had different thoughts on their minds, the awkward silence between them stretched on.

Clark didn't know how to talk to someone who might be mentally unstable, and Diana was lost in her own confusion.

Just then, the door opened.

"Boss, you're in early today."

Annie stepped in and immediately spotted Clark and Diana staring awkwardly at each other.

"Um… should I step out for a bit?"

Sensing the strange vibe, Annie didn't wait for an answer. She turned and left the shop.

But as she turned, her curiosity got the better of her.She glanced at Diana again—and froze.

Because in that moment, Annie realized:This woman… was the exact person she had been tasked with tracking down this morning—a visitor from another world.

Shocked internally, Annie kept a blank face. She walked out calmly, then found a blind spot in the alley behind the shop and pulled out her phone to send an encrypted message to her superior.

Mission target located. In contact. Engaging.

Annie never expected that such a difficult mission would be completed so effortlessly. Now, her job was to stall the target until S.H.I.E.L.D. agents arrived.

Because if Clark—that Clark—had a different opinion, even S.H.I.E.L.D. might not be able to stop this off-world visitor.

And Annie was very curious about why this woman from another world had shown up in Clark's flower shop of all places. She didn't believe in coincidences like that.

"Ahem. I'm Clark Kent. And you are…?"

Clark, perhaps prompted by Annie's interruption, decided to start a more casual conversation. He still wasn't sure how to deal with this stunning woman who might be mentally unstable, so he tried to collect some basic information:

Where was she from? Did she have family? A partner?

…And just like that, Clark realized he might have accidentally revealed a bit too much.

"Diana Prince. I'm an Amazon.Clark… don't you remember me?"

Diana frowned.

From the look in his eyes, she could tell—he didn't recognize her at all.

That kind of unfamiliarity couldn't be faked.

But just last night, they had fought side by side.Even if she had somehow ended up in another world, how could it be that she met a man with the same face, same name, and same everything… and he didn't know her?

Still, if he truly was Clark Kent, then maybe—just maybe—he could help her get back.

"Diana…?"

Clark echoed her name softly.
