When they saw this, even the dullest among them realized that whatever world lay beyond that portal was definitely not Earth. After all—a fist that big? Where could that even come from?
As the portal disappeared, all eyes turned to the figure that had emerged from it.
Well… how to put it?Beautiful. Absolutely stunning.
That was the shared opinion of everyone present when they saw the being who had flown through the portal. From appearance alone, she looked almost human—almost like a woman from Earth.
The only thing that seemed off was that her appearance surpassed that of most women on this planet. She held a round shield in one hand and a long sword in the other. Her body was clad in what could only generously be described as armor.
But to Agent Coulson, it looked more like… lingerie.
Her top barely covered her chest, leaving her shoulders and arms exposed. The lower half featured a metal mini-skirt and thigh-high boots, revealing long legs and a well-toned figure. To Coulson, the armor was clearly more ornamental than functional.
But then he remembered—this woman had just survived a punch from a being whose fist was the size of half a human. Clearly, there was more to her than met the eye.
Even so, as elite agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., everyone knew this was no time to gawk at a beautiful woman. A few agents raised their SMGs, cautiously approaching the mysterious female.
Diana, meanwhile, was deeply confused.
One moment she had been fighting Doomsday, and the next, she was suddenly standing inside what looked like a secret military facility. She'd caught a glimpse of the spatial portal behind her, but she had no idea what had just happened.
"Miss, can you please put down your weapons first?"Coulson called out to her, hoping they could talk peacefully.
"Where am I? Why did you bring me here? Send me back—Doomsday is still in Metropolis!"Diana snapped, frowning at the agents pointing guns at her.
She wasn't afraid of the guns—far from it.
But now was supposed to be the critical moment when she, Superman, and Batman fought together against Doomsday. If she wasn't there, they might not win.
"Metropolis? Doomsday?"Coulson was surprised—not that she spoke English, but by the words she chose.
They were oddly familiar.
Thanks to Clark's appearance, comic books and superhero movies had become more popular than ever. And while no one could confirm if their Superman was the Superman, fans had generally accepted him into the same camp.
Metropolis—the city often used in comics as a stand-in for New York.Doomsday—the monstrous Kryptonian mutated through endless death and resurrection. These were clearly DC Universe references.
But that didn't make sense…Could this really be the Wonder Woman from those stories?
Coulson shook off the idea. It was ridiculous.Characters from comic books didn't just appear in real life.
Still, what he'd seen—the portal, the fist, the woman's armor—left him deeply unsettled.
"Miss, please—put down your weapons,"Coulson repeated calmly.
Agent Hawkeye, standing nearby, also took his cue. He slung his bow off his back and aimed it at Diana.
While she was stunning, the sword in her hand gleamed with cold light, clearly not just for show.
Given they were in a high-security base housing the Tesseract, they had every reason to treat her as a potential threat.
Diana, meanwhile, took a good look at her surroundings.
They weren't listening to her.And they were gathering around the blue-glowing cube. She realized she must have landed in some secret facility—brought here by accident.
She didn't have a good impression of such research bases—Doomsday's origin alone had taught her that much. But she had no intention of destroying this one—at least, not yet.
Her priority was to return to Metropolis.
I just hope Superman and Batman can hold out until I return…
With that thought, Diana made a decision.Without another word, she turned and ran toward the exit.
"Stop her!"Coulson yelled.
RAT-TAT-TAT!Following his command, the agents all opened fire.
CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!
Diana, unfazed, raised her arms and deflected every bullet with her silver bracers.
It was a stunning sight. Even though they had grown used to Clark's immunity to bullets, seeing someone block bullets mid-run still shocked most of the agents.
Everyone—except Hawkeye.
He had dealt with Clark before, so he was used to such inhuman reflexes.Seeing a slight gap in Diana's defense, he fired an arrow toward her.
But that was a mistake.
Diana, sensing the arrow, sliced it cleanly in half with one swift motion of her sword.
Then, looking back at the incoming agents, Diana sighed in frustration. She crossed her arms and slammed her bracers together.
BOOM!
A powerful shockwave erupted from her wrists, sending Coulson, Barton, and the rest of the agents flying backward.
Coughing and groaning, Coulson struggled to his feet.Just as he came to, he heard the sound of measured, heavy footsteps approaching from outside.
"I want to know what just happened."
Even without seeing the person yet, Coulson recognized the voice immediately.
It was Nick Fury.
After the Tesseract began acting up, Coulson had left Fury behind to file the official alert.Apparently, he didn't make it back in time for the fight.
"Sir, the Cube opened a portal—and someone came through. Uh…"
Coulson hesitated. He didn't even know how to describe the woman who arrived.
"The Tesseract opened a portal, and someone just walked through it?"Fury looked over at the now-stable Cube, expression darkening.
He'd had this thing for over twenty years, and nothing like this had ever happened before.
But Coulson wasn't the type to make things up.
"You're telling me one person came through—and they took down everyone in my facility? Was it Superman?"
"Not Superman, sir…But she's… kind of like Wonder Woman."
