Chapter 47 - Chapter 47 Plan

Very soon, S.H.I.E.L.D. located their position using Daisy's phone number. Agent Coulson then arranged for a helicopter to take him and Clark to pick up Jane and the others.

After all, first it was Mjolnir, and now Frost Giants—it was clear to Coulson that something major was coming. As he followed Clark to find the others, he also reported all of today's events to Nick Fury.

"Asgard, Thor, Frost Giants. Looks like it's accelerating."

Reading Coulson's report, Nick Fury couldn't help but sigh.

After meeting Thor, Loki didn't immediately return to Asgard. Instead, he first went to Jotunheim.

Crossing the vast snowy plains, Loki stood before the king of the Frost Giants—Laufey.

"How's Odin doing now?" Laufey asked in a low voice, not bothering to rise when he saw Loki, instead staring down at him from his throne.

"Not well. He's sleeping now." Despite how serious the situation was, Loki's face bore a satisfied smile.

"Kill him," Laufey replied bluntly—expressing the fantasy he had held for years.

"After everything I've done for you?"

"What? You're not the one who brought us into Asgard. You're the one who got Thor exiled and told us where he was."

Seeing that Loki wasn't willing to go that far, Laufey tried to pressure him.

"Isn't it fun? Ruining my brother's big day so that the realms don't stay under his foolish control. You know he's the warmongering type. If he becomes king of Asgard, then you…"

But Loki wasn't one to be threatened. In response to Laufey's pressure, he pointed out what would happen if Thor ever became king.

"Say whatever you want."

Laufey fell silent for a moment. He had to admit—Loki's threat was powerful. Without the Casket of Ancient Winters, if the Frost Giants went to war with Asgard, their chances of losing were nearly 100%.

"I can help smuggle you and a few of your men into Odin's chambers—right where he sleeps. That's your chance to kill him."

Inspired by Laufey's earlier suggestion, a new plan formed in Loki's mind: pretend to help Laufey and his men infiltrate Asgard and get close to Odin. Then, just as Laufey was about to succeed, Loki would step in and "save" Odin.

That way, Loki would become the hero of Asgard.

As for helping his biological father kill his adoptive father? Please. That thought had never crossed Loki's mind—not even for a second.

Though he was arrogant and manipulative, there was no denying that Odin's centuries of care and teaching had planted deep respect and love in Loki's heart.

"Why don't you do it yourself?" Laufey asked, suspicious of Loki's intentions.

"Haha, because the people of Asgard would never accept a kingslayer on the throne. Once Odin's dead, I'll return the Casket to you. Then you can go reclaim your glory in Jotunheim."

To convince Laufey, Loki offered a deal too tempting to refuse. The Casket, after all, was to Frost Giants what fire is to humans—life-giving and essential.

Sure enough, Laufey's eyes lit up with excitement. He stood up, unable to hide his eagerness.

"I accept."

After securing Laufey's agreement, Loki left Jotunheim and returned to Asgard. He still had preparations to make.

But when he arrived, he found Heimdall watching him closely with scrutinizing eyes—making Loki feel uneasy. That kind of look usually meant suspicion. And that suspicion reminded Loki of who he truly was: a Frost Giant of Jotunheim.

"What are you thinking, Gatekeeper?"

Loki spoke first, challenging Heimdall for staring at him.

"When you were in Jotunheim, I wanted to keep an eye on you, but I couldn't see or hear you. You were like a sheet of frost, blinding my vision—just like the cold creeping into this realm. Giant."

Heimdall seemed to sense the darkness in Loki. There were very few in Asgard who could hide from his gaze—and even fewer who could smuggle Frost Giants into Asgard undetected.

Loki, who had studied magic alongside Frigga, was one of the few. And Heimdall, knowing Loki's origins, also knew he had motive.

With Odin in Odinsleep and Thor exiled, Heimdall couldn't help but suspect Loki's trip to Jotunheim had a hidden purpose. And Loki's reaction only confirmed it.

"Maybe your senses are dulled after so many years of service?"

Loki chuckled, mocking Heimdall.

"Or maybe someone found a way to hide what they didn't want me to see."

Heimdall stared at Loki without expression, trying to read him. But he saw nothing.

Loki didn't answer Heimdall's question—instead, he asked his own with a smile:

"You're strong, Heimdall. Was Odin ever afraid of you?"

Heimdall didn't know why Loki asked, but he still gave a clear answer:

"No."

"Why?"

"Because he was my king. I swore loyalty to him."

Hearing that, Loki knew he had him. He stared straight into Heimdall's eyes, not giving him a moment to look away.

"Well, now I am your king. You must obey me. Understand?"

"Yes."

Bound by his oath, Heimdall had no choice but to comply.

Loki, satisfied by his submission, finally smiled and turned to leave the Bifrost. But before walking away, he left Heimdall with a final command:

"From now on, until I've repaired the damage my brother caused, do not open the Bifrost for anyone."

Loki suspected that even though Thor had lost his powers, he wouldn't be killed so easily by a few Frost Giants. So just in case—if the Bifrost stayed closed, Thor would never be able to return to Asgard, even if he regained his powers.

After all, the distance between Asgard and Midgard couldn't be crossed by flight alone.

At that moment, the S.H.I.E.L.D. helicopter arrived, carrying Clark and Coulson. They spotted Thor and Jane in the wilderness. Daisy, seeing the helicopter, couldn't help but wave a cloth in the air to signal them.

"Oh thank God, Clark—you're finally here!"

"Are you okay?"

After getting off the helicopter, Coulson approached to check on everyone, his eyes inevitably landing on Thor.

S.H.I.E.L.D. had already run background checks on Jane, Daisy, and Erik. Their records were completely normal.

But Thor? Nothing.

Since S.H.I.E.L.D. hadn't apprehended him, and Jane and the others hadn't helped him falsify an identity, the background check came up blank. No birth certificate. No school history. No bank account. Nothing.

It was as if Thor had appeared out of thin air.

Coulson looked at the mysterious man again and got a strong feeling: this "God of Thunder" might just be the key to everything that had been happening nearby.

So this time, Coulson stared closely at the man he had once overlooked.
