Chapter 153: I'll Help You Just This Once
In the hotel, the room is beautiful. Ruka looks at Seraph, nibbling on an apple as she listens.
Seraph hears a voice from Kisen's staff. "You're lying, Seraph. I trust you."
Seraph hears Kisen's advice. [You didn't think to give it to me. You're so clever.]
"Actually, I thought that homeless man was pitiful, so I gave him money in exchange for information about Fynren Village. I made up this excuse."
Seraph glances at Ruka, wondering what she's thinking. [Will you believe me? What a crazy answer! Even I have doubts.]
Ruka's mouth hangs open, tears streaming down her face. A delighted voice says, "What? This is what kind of person this is? So wonderful, so wonderful. I'm in tears just watching it..."
Ruka's cries rang out, and she reached out a handkerchief to wipe her tears.
Ruka cried for a while, then stopped. "Now, let me hear your innermost thoughts." I'm so grateful.
Ruka bowed her head to Seraph.
Seraph didn't move, her confusion growing. [You believe it? You think I'm telling you, what fool would believe me? Even I wouldn't believe it!!]
Ruka picked up the apple and ate it, tears streaming down her face.
The pair of eyes formed a pattern.
"Sad, sad, sad..."
The apple ate it while crying.
Seraph didn't say anything, seeing the beautiful girl's face crying.
Ruka wiped her tears away. "Then let's get to the point.
You came here for a reason. Your goal must be here. Those two are poor, so they stole money to find information. Why did you do that? And you're acting all high and mighty."
"That's because I'm a kind person."
Ruka nodded. "Alright, nice to meet you. I'm on my way. I'll help you anyway. If you had taken that one gold coin back then, I'd have been in trouble. And wasting so much time.
"Then, if possible, can we pretend we don't know each other?"
"Okay, I'll help you once. That's why I dragged you here to tell you where I'm staying. I'm staying here."
Seraph bowed his head in thanks. [He escaped, but he got the debtor.]
"Then, I'll excuse myself."
"Please." Ruka allowed Seraph to leave.
Seraph walked out of the inn.
Upstairs, a maid stood at the window, her face showing fear.
Ruka's voice rang out. "What's wrong, maid-sister? Why are you making such a scary face? Hurry back, hurry. Don't be so scared. If you serve me well, your life will be peaceful."
The maid nodded. "Yes, Lord Ruka."
Seraph began to walk hurriedly away from the inn. [He escaped, but I thought he was dead.]
Kisen said, "I'll go. Where's Seraph?
"Get away from this place."
Seraph ran at full speed.
As night fell, Seraph arrived in the opposite direction of Nata's restaurant and Ruka's hotel.
Seraph saw a sleeping area. It was a suitable place to rest. There were fewer people walking around than usual.
Seraph sat down to rest from his long walk.
Seraph sat down near a trash can. His eyes were closed, his eyes half-closed, tired from the journey and the energy he had used.
His eyes were closed for a moment. A voice came from right in front of Seraph.
"Hey, kid. Long time no see. What are you doing here?"
Seraph sighed. [More problems, and running away from problems. More problems, and running away from problems. I'm getting irritated. What's going on? If I knew it was going to be like this, I'd rather just wash the dishes like I used to.]
Seraph looked at the face of the man standing in front of him.
He was a man, not particularly large. A friendly smile crossed his face.
Short black hair, worn clothes, his name was Ken, age 19.
Seraph recognized this person's face. He was a young A1 male who had been eliminated by Seraph.
[This person's problems seemed to be increasing. He couldn't help but stomp on him, teaching him who was better. At least he had the Kisen staff to help him.]
"I remember now. You were the one I eliminated in the first round. What's your business?"
Ken smiled. "I should've thanked you. I was only a little bit more, and I would've passed. I was attacked by your staff, and I was eliminated."
Ken looked at the Kisen staff, feeling resentful towards its user and Seraph.
Ken bowed his head to Seraph. "I have a favor to ask. Could you bring me the medicine I received for entering the Firenin School to help my sister?"
Ken asked and pleaded, asking Seraph to help his sister.
Seraph looked puzzled. [What's the matter?]
"Then what if I trade the magical reward for the potion? What will I get in return?"
Ken continued to bow to Seraph. "I will give you my entire life. My sister's condition is very serious. So, please, please."
Ken tried to save his sister by risking his own life.
Seraph looked thoughtful. [It was a difficult request to accept.]
Kisen spoke up. "What? What a sad person. Seraph, I want to help this person. So, take me to see my sister. I'll ask her origins if there's a way to help. I see someone in trouble. I can't help myself."
Seraph thought hard. [Oh, that damn senior. Is it because he likes to help people that he helped me? He's such a gentle person. But whatever, if I can save this sister, I'll give him the mission to the Phirenin School instead. I'm not involved. I'll break away. Excellent! This plan is very clever. Well, things are getting better. I still want to live in this fantasy world. Why would I want to die without it? Struggle!]
"Let me go check on you."
Ken heard the joyful expression on his face. "Thank you very much. This is my last chance. If you can save my sister," he said.
I'll follow you. "No need. Just this once is more than enough. Now, lead the way."
Seraph held his staff, ready to help Ken's sister.
Ken walked ahead, both happy and sad.
Seraph followed Ken, amidst the lights and the chatter of people. [An important person would do anything to help. It's admirable. If I had something important, I would have followed him as well. Something that should never be abandoned. The world is like this. Everyone has their own thoughts, everyone has their own needs.]
