Chapter 36 - Chapter 36 Returning Horror From History Books

In one of Gelic Alliance's planetary space hubs, Goldiram Seke was on a business trip as a member of the Goldifen Race's representative team, for the annual commerce and trade gathering between this sector's top companies and guilds.

Until it started though, Seke had ample time to leisure around and enjoy the local beauties and entertainment.

And for that, there was no better place than the grand casino Al Dorendo; a monumental establishment testament of the grandeur and wealth of the Gelic Alliance.

Four hours had already passed since he had first set foot inside the casino, but he was still sitting relaxed on a soft couch with the hot presence of two beauties accompanying him on each side next to him.

The smell of liquor was everywhere in the vicinity of the couch while the atmosphere was steamy. Loud unrestrained laughter came from Seke while the beauties giggled at whatever joke he was making.

For his first time visiting this space hub, he was having the time of his life! So much so, he was thinking of extending his stay a little bit longer after the gathering has concluded.

His hands were all over the hot beauties and ecstasy from the thrill was filling his body and mind. He was about to reach a new level of enjoyment when a shrill screech bore a hole through his eardrums and shattered whatever fantasy he was conjuring in his mind.

*CRASH!* Dropping the glass of alcohol he was holding up until then to instinctively cover his ears, he screamed as he dropped to the floor.

While in anguish from the sudden loud screeching, he managed to pick himself up just in time to see the biggest Wormlocian in his life standing above the most average and unremarkable individual he likewise has ever seen.

Before though he could pity that unlucky guy for incurring the wrath of a Wormloc, the Wormlocian screeched again, this time with obvious fury laced in his screech.

With his hands still covering his ears, Seke wasn't affected as much as he had just did earlier. He kept staring straight ahead as the Wormlocian unleashed his tentacled upon the unlucky guy.

From what he knew of the Wormloc Race, what awaited that weak-looking man was a gruesome death with his many pieces to be scattered all across the floor.

But what followed after the tentacles had rushed out was not what he initially expected.

As the tentacles were about to reach him, ready to shred and squash him into thousand pieces, the man outstretched his hand and slapped forward!

'W-What?! A slap?! What can a slap even do against a Wormlocian's wrath?!'

The thought had just formed in his bewildered mind when the simple slap met the tentacles.

*SWAT!* was all that was heard.

Seke couldn't help but blink. When his eyelids opened again, the mighty and tall Wormlocian was no longer there.

Looking across the place where the Wormlocian originally stood, he only spotted pieces of mangled flesh all over the floor and on nearby tables and bystanders.

"W-Wha!!" Just like others around him, Seke could not even spell a word correctly from his shock.

And who could blame them. Who would have thought it to be possible for a Wormlocian to be swatted to hundreds of pieces by a simple slap? It was inconceivable!

An unbelievable fit had just happened before his very eyes, its impact so great it unlocked a forgotten story he had learned back in school, when he was just a student.

It was a story which was part of his race history, and it took place hundreds of years back.

So important was the event surrounding it though, the governing authorities of the race decided to place it in the schools' teaching materials as a way for the future generations to learn of their race biggest shame yet.

And the story went like this.

In the year 3560 of the Amethyst Calendar, on the highest floor of the Aureate Company's main building in their home planet Mon' Atir, which was the most authoritative company of their race at the time, an important company meeting was interrupted.

A single man barged inside that meeting room, a man of a foreign race. He had the features of an average humanoid without any specific racial characteristics on his body.

With a single touch on two of the strongest class bodyguards, he turned them into subatomic dust, vaporizing them on the spot.

After that, according to what was passed down through the history books, the man just sat by the side and observed the higher ups of that company, showing particular interest on what their meeting was all about.

Witnesses that were present in that room had even seen him taking notes and looking strangely at them; as if he was a visitor to a zoo taking pictures of them, the animals.

His final action when he finally seemed satisfied from what he observed, was to teleport out of the room and building with just a step of his.

From then on, no matter how much their race hunted him down or searched for clues about him throughout the surrounding sectors, nothing was found.

It was as if he disappeared without a trace, adding mystery and a deep-seated fear for his existence...

Remembering the appearance and details, but also the power that historic figure possessed and exhibited, they overlapped with what he was seeing right now across the room. The power to slap another being out of existence, except for the different gruesome outcome, was also the same in both incidents.

The one whose whole presence and actions were documented in their history books and was rooted in every member of their race's deepest parts of their brains, stood before his very own eyes!

'But how can he be here, that incident was hundreds of years ago!' Seke suddenly thought.

But at once, another, unbelievable and terrifying thought crossed his mind.

'I-Is he... AN IMMORTAL?!'

The horror of that thought flooded his mind and immediately instinct took charge.

He sprang up to his feet like a scared off bird. Ignoring the beauties that so far kept him warm company, he scurried off out of the casino and ran as far away as he could possibly go from the living ancient horror that man was.
