Chapter 38 - Chapter 38 Gelic Alliance's Anger

The frightened Seke ran all the way to the sole place he felt safe in this space hub; the building the Alliance granted to their representative team as their accommodation during their stay.

It wasn't the fortifications of the building that made him feel safe, but rather who stayed there.

*BANG!* The main door of the building opened and closed with a resounding bang!

The sudden loud noise alarmed the ones who were present inside, with those sitting in the living room almost jumping from their seats.

They all turned surprised at the door, only to be welcomed by the sight of a pale and trembling Seke kneeling on the floor, gasping for air.

The sight shocked them deeply, wondering in their minds what could have caused him to be in such shape.

"Seke, what happened to you?!" immediately asked Crysel Rand, his immediate superior in the team as he went to support him up.

The others watched from the sides, waiting for his answer too.

"C-Chief! Cough, cough! H-He is here..I-I saw him..h-he is here..." Seke answered with difficulty between his trembles from the fear and his choking from his parched throat.

"What do you mean, who is here? I don't understand you!" Crysel Rand asked his subordinate, voicing the confusion the others felt as well.

"Cough, cough! H-He is here...the shame of our race...the nightmare that ruins our sleep..H-HE IS HERE!" Seke managed to yell out, just before the accumulated stress on both his body and mind finally took its toll and he passed out.

An uproar was created in the building after they heard his last words, bringing memories of that lesson they watched back when they were in school, along with the nightmares they personally had, with that dreadful individual from their history books barging in a business meeting they were participating in.

Crysel Rand had just relived that nightmare he had many years back, causing him to tremble at the horror of the experience as he kept holding his unconscious subordinate.

"Someone immediately inform Grand Feather Marlic! We need his wisdom!" he yelled, right after a shiver ran through his spine when he realized the implications if that nightmarish figure had really appeared again in this universe.

Meanwhile, half an hour ago back at the grand casino Al Dorendo. In the administrative and security floor of the building, a similar uproar was underway after the security cameras captured the shocking scene of the Wormlocian being blown to pieces.

The security chief and the casino manager were immediately notified of the shocking incident and rushed into the surveillance room in a hurry.

After they had too watched the video recording, they were shocked as well.

In all their years in this position, nothing akin to this had ever happened and they thought it would never do. No one would even think or dare to offend their Gelic Alliance like this!

But here, right now, someone dared to do just that! To throw dirt on the face of the Alliance by murdering a customer of their establishment in its very grounds.

"We can't stay silent on this matter!" shouted the security chief.

The manager solemnly nodded in agreement, his face turning black from the anger brewing inside him.

"TO ALL SECURITY GUARDS! Find the person you will now receive information on and throw him out of the casino after you leave him with only half a breath left to live!" after saying that to all the security guards through his earpiece, the security chief gave the order for the individual's image to be sent to every guard's security armband.

After waiting three minutes for a response that should have already arrived, the security chief inquired from the guards he sent, why they didn't report back yet. The answer he got confused him.

"What do you mean none of you had found him?!" he questioned in surprise.

"Sir! We moved the second you gave us the order, but we didn't find him on this floor, nor did we encounter him in the elevators as we converged here!"

"Immediately check the cameras and find where he went!" he ordered the surveillance personnel.

The security chief began to fume in rage while the face of the casino manager was getting darker by the minute.

"I found him!" after thirty seconds someone called out.

"Finally! Where is he?!" the security chief asked in relief. He didn't want to imagine what would happen to him if he lost this offender.

"He is on floor 24!"

"What?! He moved three floors above?! How did the guards miss him?!" he angrily asked.

"He, he used the stairs sir!" answered the surveillance guy after checking.

"....." The security chief was speechless for a while. How did he not think of the stairs?!

"Quickly brought forward the live feed on him!" he ordered, diverging everyone's attention away from his blunder.

The cameras feed changed and the 24th floor was shown. The offender was strolling through the floor while casually looking around as if what he did earlier downstairs hadn't actually happen.

"...""...""..." everyone was speechless.

"This f*cker! He dares disrespect us like this?!" the security chief shouted in outrage. The store manager's face was now a black slate; it couldn't get any darker.

"TO ALL THE GUARDS! The target is on the 24th floor! Go now and don't dare let him slip out!"

All the guards' teams moved out. Twenty seconds later, all in the surveillance room could see through the live feed the first three guards arriving and stopping the offender in his tracks.

The security chief and the casino manager could finally relax as they watched the three guards about to grab the offender and do their job.

The next second though... *CRUSH!*

The three guards were thrown outside through the thick wall of the building. The people in the surveillance room even felt the tremor from the wall breaking as they watched the live feed in disbelief and shock!

No one could react. They were too frozen by the unbelievable sight they witnessed. By the time the casino manager and security chief came to their senses, the offender was just seen leaving the floor.

They quickly sent an urgent message to the Alliance's upper echelons on the artificial planet, reporting everything without missing any detail in their account.

The response they got back was instant. They were to send all available casino guards out to intercept the offender or slow him down until the main forces arrive.

The casino manager and security chief didn't voice any objections and gave the orders at once. This was no longer a slap to their Gelic Alliance face, but rather, a punch to the stomach and excrement smudged to their image.

No matter how strong this guy was, he had to pay the price for offending and insulting their Alliance like so with his life.

The guards quickly formed a blockage line outside the casino and waited for the offender, while the people in the surveillance room watched nervously through the cameras.

A couple of minutes later, the offender waltzed outside from the main entrance just as nonchalantly as he previously had been walking inside the building.

"TAKE AIM!" managed to shout out the security chief as the offender was seen taking his first step forward.

The guards brandished their laser guns and took aim at the offender, ready to pull the trigger on moment notice.

When he saw him keep walking without flinching under the aim of weapons, he clenched his jaw as he gave the order to fire.

At once, a horizontal rain of light beams poured upon the walking offender.

All present in the surveillance room watched in suspense as the rain of light made contact with the offender.

They didn't know what to expect of the end result, but they sure didn't expect what happened right after.

The shower of light beams turned to harmless white sparks the moment they hit on the offender's seemingly defenseless body!

Deathly silence overtook the surveillance room, and a complete contrast of sound was created between the two separated by distance places.

Everything inside the room was paralyzed with quietness while chaotic buzzing from the firing lasers was transmitted through the cameras' audio feed.

All those present inside the surveillance room stared at the screens dumbstruck, glued to their seat or rooted where they had been standing all along.

The offender, instead of being riddled with holes, had seemingly kept deflecting the scorching hard light projectiles with no effort at all. Not even a droplet of sweat could be seen on his forehead from the high-definition cameras.

But the shocking scenes didn't end there.

In front of the wide open and shocked eyes of the spectators, the offender, under the light beams and sparks shower of white rain, walked unhurriedly in the firing line of guards.

When he reached them, he didn't even flinch in his step. He calmly kept walking all the same as he did so far.

The ones watching had newfound hopes in that moment. They believed that despite the unnatural reason the lasers didn't do any damage or stop him in the slightest, the hundred or so guards could physically hinder him at least.

The results though, yet again, beg to disappoint their hopes.

As if magic itself, the moment any guard was close enough to attempt to touch the offender, got thrown back away from him by an invisible force. It was as if the offender had his personal forcefield protecting him around his body.

If that was true and he indeed have such a forcefield on, it would weirdly also explain why he wasn't turned into Swiss cheese from the laser beams.

Like an unstoppable siege machine, he demolished the flesh wall that barred his way, scattering the individual 'stones' as if they were pebbles instead.

The security chief felt his knees about to give up but managed to grab a nearby chair on time for support. The casino manager on the other hand lost all feeling on his legs, and after dizziness attacked him, he dropped to the floor on all his fours, unwilling to believe what he just saw and to come to terms with what this unexpected and unreal failure to stop him really meant.

They could only helplessly watch the offender walking away from the scope of their cameras unable to do anything else but accept their defeat.

As their inability to stop or even slow down the offender was reported to the upper governing body of the planet, they received the order of giving up their guards' control over to them. They are to continue to attack and pursue the offender with the added guards from the upper governing body.

The casino manager knew he had no say on this decision and could only nod in acceptance.
