Chapter 23 - Solo Mission

"The dark sky is rumbling with lightning and when you see me, you will feel sleepy…" Marco spoke but halfway through, he felt that something seemed to shift in his subconsciousness and his words slowed down.

Arya knew that Marco wanted to plant psychological hint to her and simply moved slightly, interrupting his words.

"Listen to my words, you will now turn around and sit down."

Thud!

Because Marco fell down all of the sudden, the pain awakened him slightly and he frowned. He was clearly trying to hypnotize Arya just now… how did it turn to him being hypnotized instead?

Looking at Arya who was still looking at him with smile, Marco felt that this person was really better than him.

"How did you do that?"

"A person with firm mind couldn't be controlled by hypnosis so easily," Arya said calmly. It was a common knowledge that everyone knew. "As long as you got their attention, you can let your target to pay attention to what you want through your body language or even your words. Every single part of your body is your weapon."

But normally speaking, it was hard for one to pay close attention to their body language at all times.

After all, they had no intention of hypnotizing others all the time.

Without paying close attention to their target, it would be hard for a psychologist to affect their mind too.

"It's impossible to hypnotize others without targeting them on purpose," Marco said without hesitation.

"It's possible but it's indeed difficult." Arya pulled a chair and sat down in front of Marco. "So we'll not talk about it now and instead talk about how you can be countered just now."

Just now?

Marco was sure that he was looking straight at Arya's eyes and then…

"Looking at a psychologist eyes directly in the eyes are dangerous. A slight shift on one's eyes can make you focus on the target that I want you to see and a slow movement can bring your consciousness to shift…"

After an entire hour of explaining, Arya left.

The problem is… Marco felt that he knew all of these knowledge and didn't really learn anything new.

As a professor in psychology, how could he not know the basic theory?

But for some reason, he felt that he was listening to Arya's words and felt that whatever she said was reasonable.

This is unscientific.

On the other hand, Arya sighed deeply as she walked back home. Honestly, the things that she said to Marco today were things that she had learned when she took the class before coming into the organization.

They might look important but… it was nothing more than theory on paper.

'Ah, I wonder how long he'll last under my teaching.'

Even though Arya managed to counter the hypnosis, she could tell that Marco was not so easily influenced by others. Asking him to sit down might be the limit and it was impossible to let him do other things.

Those who learned psychology was very clear that they had to leave a backdoor in their mind.

This would prevent them from being influenced by others so easily when they tried to hypnotize others and to make sure that they would not make any unnecessary mistakes.

Because being controlled by others is really terrifying.

It was like giving the key to have one's mind and heart in the other party's hand.

This was something that many people would not be willing to do.

And for them who were living in the darkness…

Who among them wanted their darkness to be exposed by others?

Ding!

Seeing the notification on her phone, Arya arched her eyebrows. She was given a solo mission… it seemed that she would have to go out again.
