Freya's POV
Jordan Kenneth and Belinda escorted me into the hospital room. The space was impressive, with its luxury amenities and private bathroom.
"Ms. Freya, I should stay overnight with you." Belinda glanced at the pullout bed positioned near the window.
I shook my head firmly. "That won't be necessary. I'm not an invalid, and hopefully I'll be discharged this afternoon anyway."
The hospital made my skin crawl. Running into Mack Ben in the hallway earlier had only intensified my desire to escape this place as quickly as possible.
The thought of encountering him again terrified me. His cold, distant stare had cut through me like ice. If I saw that indifferent expression one more time, I might completely fall apart.
What scared me even more was the possibility that my illness might weaken my resolve. I might do something pathetic like try to start a conversation or beg him to reconsider. That would only make our situation messier than it already was.
