Freya's POV
The truth was crystal clear to the judge from our first hearing months ago.
Back then, my circle of friends had lined up as witnesses, each one ready to testify about Jasper Tristan's shameless affair. He had paraded his infidelity around town like a badge of honor, turning himself into the subject of whispered gossip at every social gathering.
I still couldn't wrap my head around his audacity. How did he find the nerve to file this appeal and drag all his revolting behavior back into the spotlight?
The answer was simple. Desperation. He was drowning and saw me as his only lifeline, even if it meant crawling through the mud to reach me.
As I rattled off each of Jasper's transgressions, he locked eyes with me from across the courtroom. His jaw was rigid, his stare burning with barely contained fury.
