Freya's POV
I refused to engage with meaningless hypothetical questions. They served no purpose.
Even if Mack Ben vanished from existence, nothing would ever happen between Jasper and me again.
The lawyer wheeled me from the courtroom as Belinda and Katie Harriet rushed forward to meet us.
"Finally free from that nightmare!" They had caught word of the verdict outside and practically bounced with excitement.
I managed a weak smile. "Come on, lunch is on me. We're celebrating."
"Perfect! I already booked us a table at Marlborough," Katie Harriet announced, beaming.
The lawyer declined my invitation to join us, citing urgent business, and departed swiftly.
As we descended the courthouse steps, chaos erupted ahead.
My stomach dropped when I spotted the source.
The Tristan Family had assembled like vultures, surrounding Hazel White at the courthouse entrance. They had been lying in wait, determined to ambush me.
