Mack Ben grinned and said, "You shouldn't question it. That's definitely one of my reasons."
What?
He wanted to rush into marriage just for that?
I stood there stunned, staring at him without words.
"Come on, let me walk you upstairs."
He remained mindful of the driver waiting in the car and kept his hands to himself, but he lifted our son from my arms and guided us toward the building.
Inside the elevator, his gaze stayed locked on me with an intensity that made my skin warm.
His staring made me squirm. "What are you looking at?"
"I'm memorizing you. Before we got back together, I couldn't look at you like this without worrying you'd get angry." His honest answer only made me more flustered.
After settling our sleeping child in the bedroom, I watched him turn toward me and instinctively started to leave.
But I moved too slowly.
His arm circled my waist, drawing me against his chest.
