Walking back into the company after two years felt surreal. Fresh faces filled the corridors, though familiar ones remained scattered throughout the offices.
Belinda still worked here, now serving as Valerie Victor's assistant and leading the secretarial department. The moment she spotted me, her eyes widened before breaking into pure delight.
"Ms. Freya, you actually came back!" She rushed toward me, seizing my arm with both hands. "I can't believe it's really you! We thought you'd forgotten about us completely after disappearing for two whole years!"
Valerie Victor waited by the company entrance, watching our reunion with amusement. "Look at that. Your former team is calling you heartless for abandoning them without a word."
I raised my hands in surrender. "Guilty as charged. How about I make it up to everyone with lunch today? Belinda, round up whoever's available from the old crew."
"Consider it done!" She practically bounced away to make arrangements.
