With a potent mix of determination and nervous excitement coursing through his veins, Leon stepped into the car, ready to chase after her. Beside him sat Finn and James, the tension in the air palpable. Clutched tightly in James's hand was the only clue they had: an address scrawled hastily on a hotel's register.
"Leon, why her? Are you absolutely sure about this?" Finn asked, his voice laced with concern. He had known Leon since childhood, a time when every small decision was dissected and deliberated down to the last detail. Watching his friend act so impulsively was both startling and captivating.
"Finn, this isn't a whim," Leon replied, his heart racing. "Yesterday, it started with just a flicker of curiosity, but this morning, as I lay awake looking at her, I realized I dreamt a future—a family—with her. I've always taken my personal life seriously This is the first time, I want to be willfull and rash."
Finn raised an eyebrow, skepticism hanging in the air. "Sure, but if you actually meet her, what's your plan?"
"First, I need to gauge her feelings. If she's okay with me, we can take our time—maybe date a bit before getting to the big question. Or, if the moment feels right for her, I'll propose marriage on the spot."
James, who had been navigating the streets with a serious expression, chimed in, "President, that's all predicated on the assumption she's not already taken."
"Shut your mouth, James! You're not helping!" Leon barked, bracing himself against the car's seat.
"But, Leo..." Finn ventured cautiously.
"Guys, my gut says she's single. Even if she's with someone, I doubt it's a happy situation. I can feel it in my bones."
"Okay, if that's true, what's next for you, Leon?" Finn pressed, intrigued despite himself.
"I'll help her find a way out, show her there are so many brighter tomorrows ahead," Leon said with fierce determination, his mind racing with possibilities.
Leon's gaze fell on something beside him—a used medicine strip, crumpled and forgotten. "Wait a second…," he said, holding it up. "I found this in that room. I think it's hers."
Finn's expression morphed from curiosity to dread as he examined the strip, turning it over in his hands. His playful demeanor vanished, replaced by a furrowed brow and intense focus.
"Stop the car!" Finn shouted, urgency in his voice echoing through the car, piercing through the chaotic thoughts swirling in Leon's mind.
"What's going on?" James asked, quickly pulling to the side of the road.
"We need to go back," Finn replied, his eyes darkening with a new understanding. "If she has this... it ..."
