Chapter 26 - Ch26: Ice deity

The trio zipped straight to Hales International School, excitement buzzing in the air.

"Leo," James chimed in, bouncing on his heels, "Hales is the shining star of schools in Ravengrade! Just think about it. Even getting a job as a librarian there is a big deal. She must be super talented!" Leo looked like a proud husband listening to Finn

Leon and James lounged in Finn's office, legs crossed and eyes wide, while Finn was off exploring the campus to gather intel on the mysterious librarian.

Finn returned, looking both exhausted and amused, scratching his head. "Well, I gathered some juicy details! She's a total bookworm—like, the poster child for introverts. Picture the most quiet person you know, and then multiply that by ten. She's a legend around here!"

"Honestly, I thought life would be more exciting at a school," Leon smirked.

Finn took a sip of water, chuckling to himself. "I asked around, and everyone said the same thing: she's as silent as a library at closing time. No social media, no friends—just solitary adventures with her beloved books! Even the staff barely know her beyond her name. Oh, and she's a total knockout, apparently. Some teachers are too shy to even ask her out!"

"Wow, Leo," James teased, elbowing his best friend. "Looks like that iron tree of yours has sprouted some serious flowers! Good luck winning over the 'ice deity', though!"

Leon stood up, a determined glint in his eyes. "Then wish me luck, fellas!"

"Hey, wait—it's still work hours!" Finn protested, half-laughing.

"I know! I won't cause a ruckus. I just need to catch her eye..." Leon grinned mischievously.

"Leo, you're so shameless!" Finn shook his head, trying to hide his amusement.

"Thanks! Oh, and since I'm donating a building for the library, I can get a library access card, right?" Leon added with a wink.

"Don't worry, I'll get you a lifetime pass!" Finn laughed, raising an eyebrow.

"Perfect! You know me too well!" Leo exclaimed, throwing his arms around Finn in a quick hug before bounding out with renewed enthusiasm, his mission clear: to capture the heart of the girl wrapped up in her books.
