Seraphina's POV
"Seraphina, I think you should read it." Kira's voice sounded out from the tent flap, it was soft but certain.
"You still have it with you?" I froze, halfway through braiding my hair, I don't know why she changed her mind.
"I wasn't sure before, but… you deserve to see his words, not just hear them." She then walked inside, with the letter in her hands.
"I don't know if I can." My throat was pressed together for a moment, I looked at the letter like it was a poison.
"Then I will have to stay if it is too much, you can stop." Kira set it down on my bed side anyway.
Her gentleness was very normal, but it also made it harder to say no. I reached out for the letter, my fingers were shaking, and broke the seal, I saw Caelum's handwriting, it was sharp and deliberate as it filled the page.
"Seraphina, I was wrong, I see the ruin that I had caused, I see what I let break between us and I don't expect forgiveness, but at least let me atone for my sins."
