LUCIUS POV.
I was dragged from sleep by the sound of a knock at my door. My eyes fluttered open, as it was heavy with fatigue, and for a moment I thought I was alone. But then the warmth beside me made me stiffen.
I turned my head, and my breath caught.
Marissa lay there, bare under the duvet, her hair tangled, her lips slightly parted in sleep. The memories from last night hit me like a blade…her seduction, her whispers, the way she had pressed herself against me until I gave in. I remembered the heat of it, the desperation in her eyes, and how I had let my guard down.
Now there was no turning back in this wedding and now that we've both had sex, there won't be any excuses and no denial in saying 'No' in marrying her.
I clenched my jaw in anger, throwing the sheets aside as I rose from the bed. Damn her. Damn myself.
The knock came again, softer this time. I adjusted my gloves slightly as i was already tired wearing them. I stride across the room, and yanked the door open.
