LOGAN'S POV.
The creak of the door sent a shiver through my body. My chest beat so hard I thought it might crack and slowly, I turned my head toward the door, dreading whoever it was that had stepped inside.
It wasn't Lucius and it wasn't also Alpha Leo.
It was Vera, my personal assistant.
Her eyes widened the moment they landed on me…no, not me, on what lay at my feet. The maid's lifeless body sprawled across the floor, her face pale, lips drained of color, her body still warm in my arms.
Vera gasped. "Oh my goodness… Logan, what have you done to her?"
She called me by name as she never called me by name. I always told her to get used to addressing me as Alpha Logan, but in her shock, the formalities shattered. Her voice cracked, trembling, disbelief filling her eyes.
