LUCIUS POV.
Marissa's eyes flashed as she turned to Diana, her voice was sharp enough to cut through the evening air.
"You again? Why do you always like disturbing us? Don't tell me you want Lucius to notice you?"
Before I could stop her, she struck Diana across the face, the sound echoing through the garden like a whip crack. Diana stumbled sideways, her cheek already swelling, and for the first time I noticed the dark stains of blood all over her dress.
I hated Diana, at least, I thought I did. She disgusted me, her presence always reminding me of the filth that stained the palace. Yet, deep down, something softens inside me at the sight of her suffering. Something I couldn't explain, something I didn't even want to admit to myself.
My lips parted, but no words came. I didn't know what to say anymore.
And then I saw him…my stepbrother Tyrant. He came running toward us, his heavy steps marching against the stones, his expression was full of fury.
