The kids and their Digimon exit the tunnel and enter a dreary-looking landscape with rock cliffs, a small lake, and a bunch of wrecked ships in the nearby ocean.
"What a dump." said Rusty.
"Lucy would like this place." said Lincoln.
"Where do you think Clyde's artifact is?" asked Stella. Clyde holds his Digivice all around until he stopped where it glowed brightest, in the direction of the shipwrecks.
"It's got to be on one of those ships." said Clyde.
"I wonder if those are pirate ships and whoever's on them think the artifact is a treasure?" wondered Zach.
"Maybe there's other valuable stuff we can grab and be super rich?" suggested Rusty.
"Is there even money good in our world here in the Digital World?" Stella replied.
"A guy can hope, can't he?" Rusty responds.
"Let's just check them out." said Lincoln. He and the others start walking over to the beach; when they got close to the water, they see a wooden walkway leading to the closest ship.
"At least we don't have to swim." said Rusty. The kids and the Digimon then enter the first ship and start to explore.
"Check your Digivice, Clyde." said Lincoln. Clyde does so and sees it glowed brightly when pointed at the other ships.
"I don't think my artifact is on this one." said Clyde.
"Let's try another." said Liam. They find a rope bridge leading from the ship they were on to the next one and walk across it, unaware of several pairs of glowing eyes watching them from the water below them. The group check Clyde's Digivice again and see that they had to go to the next ship; they do this until they reached the very last and largest ship in the fleet.
"It's gotta be here." said Stella. Clyde points his Digivice around until it glowed brightly towards doors leading into the ship's main cabin.
"My artifact is in there!" said Clyde. As he and the others run towards the doors, several gray crablike Digimon wearing eyepatches suddenly burst out through them and surround the group.
"What are these guys?" asked Rusty. "They look a little 'crabby'."
"Rusty, don't tell bad jokes; they make me miss Luan." said Lincoln. Zach points his Digivice towards one of the crab Digimon.
"Those are Crabmon. Rookie Level, Crustacean Type, Data Attribute Digimon; their special attack is Scissor Magic." said Zach.
"What are you landlubbers doing on our ship?" asked one of the Crabmon.
"There's something on this ship we're looking for." said Lincoln.
"They must want our treasure!" said another Crabmon.
"You can't have it, it's ours!" said another Crabmon.
"It's Clyde's!" said Stella.
"Yeah, so get out of our way!" said Liam.
"Make us!" said a Crabmon.
"I was hoping you'd say that." said Elecmon.
"Let's do it!" said Agumon as he and the other Digimon form a circle around the kids and get ready for battle.
"Get them!" said a Crabmon, making them all charge the group.
"Scissor Magic!" said a Crabmon as it thrusts its pincers towards Agumon.
"Claw Attack!" shouts Agumon as he strikes at the attacking Crabmon, blocking its attack; the two exchang blows until Agumon lands a solid hit that knocks the Crabmon into the water.
"Water Shot!" said another Crabmon, firing a stream of water from its mouth at Gaomon, but he jumps up, dodging the attack.
"Wild Bark!" yells Gaomon as he lets out a loud cry, releasing a soundwave that hits the Crabmon, sending it flying into the water.
"Scissor Magic!" yelled another Crabmon as it lunges at Elecmon.
"Nine Tails!" shouts Elecmon; electricity surrounds his tails, and he swings them at Crabmon, hitting it, and knocking it into the water.
"Twirling Tackle!" yells Kudamon. He spins towards another Crabmon and hits it with the bullet cartridge on the end of his tail, knockng it into the water.
"Nuts Gun!" shouts Lalamon as she fires seeds out of her mouth with great force at some of the Crabmon, blasting them into the water.
"Wild Strike!" shouts Gotsumon as he swings his arms around at a Crabmon, knocking it into the water as well. Lincoln then looks towards the open cabin doors.
"Let's clear a path for Clyde!" said Lincoln.
"Charge!" shouts Clyde as the group charges through some Crabmon until they reach the cabin doors.
"You get your artifact, Clyde; we'll cover you!" said Lincoln.
"You got it, buddy!" said Clyde as he and Gaomon enter the doors while the others surround it. Clyde and Gaomon walk down a small flight of stairs and found themselves in a large room; they look around until they saw a blue wrist cuff with a yellow trim, floating in mid-air, surrounded by a light blue spherical barrier.
"That must be your artifact, Clyde." said Gaomon. As he and Clyde walked towards it, A Digimon dressed in pirate attire with a large hook for a right hand and a cannon for a left hand jumps down from a wooden beam and lands between Clyde and Goamon and the artifact.
"You and your friends have done well against the crew, now let's see how you do against the captain." said the Digimon. Clyde takes out his Digivice and points it at the Digimon.
"That's Hookmon, Champion Level, Mutant Type, Virus Attribute; special attack, Captain Cannon." said Clyde.
"What ye be doing in my ship?" asked Hookmon.
"That artifact over there belongs to me!" said Clyde, pointing at the artifact.
"It's in my ship, so it belongs to me!" exclaimed Hookmon.
"Look, just let Clyde have his artifact and we'll leave your ship." said Gaomon, raising his fists.
"The only way you two scallywags will leave my ship is after I make the two of you walk the plank!" exclaimed Hookmon, pointing his hook hand at Clyde and Gaomon.
"Clyde, I don't think he's willing to give us the artifact." said Gaomon.
"I guess we'll have to do this the hard way." said Clyde. He pushes the button on his Digivice and Gaomon begins to spin and glow.
"Gaomon, Digivolve to..." said Gaomon before turning in Gaogamon. "...Gaogamon!" Gaogamon lunges at Hookmon, but it jumps to the side; it then aims its cannon hand at Gaogamon.
"Captain Cannon!" said Hookmon. It fires a cannonball at Gaogamon and it hits him, exploding on impact and knocking Gaogamon to the ground, but he gets back up. Hookmon runs at Gaogamon and swings its hook hand at Gaogamon, but he jumps to the side, dodging the hook.
"Spiral Blow!" shouts Gaogamon as he fires a spiraling vortex of wind out of his mouth and it hits Hookmon, knocking it back. "Double Claw!" Gaogamon pounces at Hookmon and swings his fronts claws at it, but it blocks them with both its hook and cannon. Hookmon kicks Gaogamon in the chest, knocking him back, then slashes him across the chest with its hook hand; Gaogamon stumbles back.
"Metal Shot!" shouts Hookmon as he fires multiple metal balls at Gaogamon, some of them hitting him; knocking him onto the floor.
"You can do it, Gaogamon!" shouts Clyde. Hookmon runs at Gaogamon with his hook hand raised; he swings it at Gaogamon, but he jumps up from the floor, dodging the hook and it hits the floor and gets stuck. Hookmon tries to get his hook off loose, but was having a hard time.
"I'm stuck!" shouts Hookmon.
"Dash Double Claw!" shouts Gaogamon as he swings his front paws, releasing an X shaped energy wave at Hookmon and blasts him through the floor.
"NOOOOOOOOO!" exclaimed Hookmon before it disintegrated.
"Great job, Gaogamon." said Clyde. Water suddenly began coming out of the hole made by Gaogamon's attack.
"Clyde, we must get your artifact and get off this ship before it sinks!" said Gaogamon. As Clyde runs towards his artifact, a beam of light is released from his Digivice and it hits the barrier surrounding it; making the barrier disappear and the artifact floats to Clyde and wraps itself around his left wrist; his Digivice then starts to glow and suddenly merges with it, making a small screen and buttons appear.
"That was cool." said Clyde. He and Gaogamon run to the doors and exits the room, just as his friends' Digimon knocked the last of the Crabmon overboard.
"That's all of them." said Zach. He and his friends look back at Clyde.
"Did you get it?" asked Lincoln. Clyde smiles as he holds out his wrist, revealing his artifact.
"That's one down." said Stella. Just then, one of the other pirate ships suddenly explodes.
"What was that?!" asked Rusty. They all look to see MetalTyrannomon holding out his right arm that had smoke coming out of it.
"Humans!" shouts MetalTyrannomon. "I know you're on one of these ships! Come out and face me!"
"Who's that guy?!" asked Rusty with fear. Clyde holds out his wrist and a holographic screen comes out of it.
"That's MetalTyrannomon; Ultimate Level, Android Type, Virus and Vaccine Attributes; his special attack is Giga Destroyer." said Clyde.
"Human children!" said MetalTyrannomon. "On behalf of Lord Titamon, I shall destroy you all!"
"So, he's another of Lord Titamon's goons?!" replied Rusty.
"How does he know we're here?" asked Stella. Lincoln looks around and soon sees a Vilmeon watching them.
"Didn't we destroy that one?" asked Lincoln.
"Must be another one." said Clyde.
"It must've been watching us after we defeated the last one." said Stella.
"What now?!" asked Zach.
"Giga Destroyer!" shouts MetalTyrannomon as he holds out his right arm and fires a missile out of it that blows up another ship.
"That guy's gonna destroy every ship until it gets us!" said Clyde.
"What do you reckon we should do?" asked Liam.
"The ship leading back to shore has been destroyed, and I don't see any other paths leading there from here." said Lincoln.
"We're trapped!" said Zach. Lincoln looks around and sees a couple of old lifeboats hanging over the side.
"Let's use those to get out of here." said Lincoln.
"Will they even float?" asked Zach.
"It's either that or we get blown up!" said Stella.
"Good enough for me!" said Rusty as he and the others run to the lifeboats and climb into them. Agumon and Elecmon use their claws to cut the ropes, causing them to fall into the water. Seeing that there were oars in the boats, they start using them to paddle away from the ship as the one before it blows up.
"Paddle faster!" said Lincoln as he and the others paddle with all their might.
"Goodbye, humans!" said MetalTyrannomon as he launches another Giga Destroyer attack at the last boat, blowing it to pieces. With a satisfied smirk on its face, it starts walking away.
Meanwhile, near the burning wreckage, Vilemon was flying around.
"Pepper Breath!" shouts Agumon as he launches a fireball at the Vilemon's back, damaging its wings to the points they couldn't keep it in midair and it falls into the water.
"That takes care of that one for now." said Agumon.
"Nice shot." said Gotsumon. The kids' lifeboats come out of the smoke from the burning debris, showing the kids and their Digimon, safe and sound.
"Is MetalTyrannomon gone?" asked Rusty. Lincoln looks towards the shore and sees that it wasn't around.
"I don't see it." said Lincoln.
"Good, not that I was afraid or anything." said Rusty.
"Tell that to the wet spot on the front of your pants." said Stella.
"It's just water from the ocean after we splashed into it!" said Rusty.
"Sure." said Stella with an eyeroll.
"What are we going to do now?" asked Zach.
"For now, that MetalTyrannomon probably thinks we've been blown up and is gonna tell his allies that, so they might not look for us; at least until one of their goons sees us." said Lincoln.
"So, we should definitely keep our eyes open for more Vilemon in case they have more of them." said Clyde.
"And we should definitely look around for the other artifacts." said Liam.
"Let's get out of here." said Lincoln as the kids start paddling ashore.
The kids have found one artifact and survived their encounter with MetalTyrannomon. What dangers await them as their adventures continue?
