Uriel looked at her expression for a while before widening his eyes in surprise. “Are you saying there’s someone in the capital who can steal that deal?”
“Exactly.”
“That person… you don’t mean…”
“It’s me,” Apollonia said with a grin, looking up at Uriel. “Where do you think I’d use all those jewels? Did you think I’d just leave them lying around forever?”
Uriel and placed his hand on his forehead and let out an empty chuckle. It was a bold move, so bold that it could even be considered reckless. However, he couldn’t deny that it would be highly effective if she were to succeed.
But then, was that really enough?
“If you break their deal like that… couldn’t they just proceed with the wedding under a different deal?”
Uriel’s concerned voice once again made Apollonia smile. It wasn’t just his voice; seeing his face resembling that of a large, anxious puppy made her unable to resist smiling.
