“Lord Gareth has fallen into the fountain!”
“Save him right now!”
As soon as they heard a splash, people ran over, shouting.
They quickly pulled Gareth out of the fountain, although he remained unconscious and soaking wet. No one knew what he’d been hit with though, and even Gareth himself would have collapsed without a clue.
Uriel, who was nearby, did not show any sign of being present.
Apollonia couldn’t help but smile, knowing that he was close by and always protecting her.
“Gareth must be quite drunk. Quickly call a physician,” she said, feigning surprise. Inwardly, she was thinking that this was good. No matter how much of an idiot Gareth was, he would eventually learn that he would keep running into trouble if he got involved with her.
“Your Highness, are you alright?” Eckhart arrived a bit later and asked Apollonia, showing genuine concern for her well-being.
‘He’s not a bad person.’
