The warm sea breeze brushed over the deck of the newly christened ship, elysian, as it cut through the blue waters. After days of travel since leaving Skypiea, the world below felt almost too quiet compared to the realm of endless sky. Ethan stood at the bow, his coat fluttering slightly, his gaze steady toward the approaching coastline.
"Land ho!" Kaya called out from the crow's nest, cheerful and excited. "We're here!"
Vivi came beside Ethan, shielding her eyes from the sun with a hand. "It really is peaceful here. Do you think Montblanc will remember us?"
Ethan smiled faintly. "He's not the kind of man to forget."
Robin closed her book and joined them. "He spent his life looking for proof of the sky island. After what happened, I imagine he'd love nothing more than to see us again."
The ship docked near the same coast where Montblanc Cricket once helped them launch for the sky. The jungle was just as vibrant, though the air was thicker here, denser than the open skies above.
As the group disembarked, footsteps echoed from the edge of the clearing. Montblanc Cricket, still shirtless and energetic despite his age, appeared with his signature wide grin, goggles on his forehead and arms outstretched.
"Well I'll be damned!" he shouted. "The Sky Heroes themselves!"
Vivi chuckled. "Heroes, now?"
"You bet," he laughed. "The skies told us your story, y'know. Word's been floating down even before you landed. Some called it madness, others... proof. And here you are!"
The two embraced briefly, Montblanc's firm grip a sign of how grateful he truly was.
"You've returned from the heavens. So, how was it? Tell me everything!"
They spent the afternoon gathered by the old camp. Montblanc had set up chairs, some fresh fruit, and even a few barrels of half-decent rum. Stories flowed like water — the sky people's cheers, Enel's defeat, the island of clouds, and the golden city.
Montblanc listened, eyes wide like a child's. "You saw Shandora... and the golden bell? Damn. I always believed, but hearing it from you — it makes it real."
Robin handed him a sketch of the bell etched in her journal. "I documented most of it. This belongs to history."
He held it as if it were sacred.
Kaya, her head on Ethan's shoulder, glanced at the sunset. "It's strange. I thought I'd miss Skypiea more. But being back here… it's warm."
Ethan nodded, watching Montblanc laugh over a bottle with Vivi. "Sometimes… peace is found in smaller places."
Robin looked at him curiously. "You've had your share of chaos, haven't you?"
He didn't answer directly. Just a gentle nod and a quiet sip of rum.
That evening, as stars began to sprinkle across the night sky, Montblanc raised a toast. "To proof. To adventure. And to the ones who reached the heavens."
"To adventure," they echoed, glasses clinking.
