Chapter 44 - CHAPTER 44: The Awakening of Truth

Tears welled in Fang's eyes as she turned to Langshen, her voice shaking.

"Langshen… then Lucian's parents—who are they?"

Langshen's expression turned grave.

"Kaelvar and Vesper. But his mother, Vesper, died the day Lucian was born."

Fang's brows furrowed in confusion.

"Then… how is this connected to me?"

Langshen gave her a faint, knowing smile.

"Lunarya, even if your memories remain hidden now, fate will guide you back. The violet stone you once gave... has returned to its rightful owner."

Fang instinctively placed a hand on her chest.

"The violet stone... It's with me?"

Langshen nodded gently.

"Yes. It resides within your heart."

Fang's hand pressed firmly over her chest, but she felt nothing.

"I don't feel anything, Langshen."

He stepped closer, his tone calm but urgent.

"You won't feel it—yet. It's sealed inside you. Only when you break that seal will you be able to destroy Lucian and the Shadowland. Only then will peace return to the world. You are not just the chosen one, Lunarya… You are the goddess reborn. You are Fang now—but your soul is still hers."

Fang's breath caught, her thoughts spiraling.

"Even if I am Lunarya… how do I break the seal? How can I defeat him?"

Langshen's eyes dimmed with regret.

"I cannot give you that answer, Lunarya. I've returned your memories, but the spell you need lies buried within them. It's your task to find it and break the seal. The sooner you do, the sooner the world can be saved. No one else can do this. Only you."

Fang stared at him, stunned.

Langshen's voice grew sharper.

"You must not speak of this—not even to those closest to you. Do you understand?"

Slowly, Fang nodded, still in shock.

Langshen's form began to dissolve into mist. His voice echoed one last time in the wind:

"Reveal your true form… quickly."

---

Suddenly, Fang gasped and shot upright—breaking free of Lucian's curse.

Her chest rose and fell with shallow breaths. Her limbs trembled as she slowly opened her eyes, blinking against the light.

The first thing she saw… was Syaoran.

He sat beside her, his hand wrapped tightly around hers, his forehead resting against the bed as he murmured her name in his sleep.

Fang's heart ached. With her free hand, she reached out and gently stroked his hair.

"Syaoran…" she whispered softly.

At the sound of her voice, he stirred. His eyes snapped open, and he lifted his head.

"Fang?! You're awake!"

His voice trembled as he grasped her hand in both of his.

"Does it hurt? Are you okay? I missed you, Fang… I was so scared I'd lose you…"

She sat up slowly, leaning back against the pillow. With a soothing smile, she ran her fingers through his hair.

"I'm alright, Syaoran. See? I'm back to normal now. There's no need to worry."

Without another word, Syaoran leaned forward and embraced her tightly, burying his face in her chest.

His shoulders shook with quiet sobs.

Fang held him close, gently patting his back, her own eyes brimming with tears.

"I'll protect you, Syaoran… I'll protect this world," she thought silently.

"Even if I am Lunarya… to you, I will always be Fang."

She rested her chin on his shoulder, and a single tear slid down her cheek—falling softly onto his shirt.

In that fragile moment, her past and present intertwined. And with her heart full of love and pain, she silently vowed:

She would fight. For him. For the world.
