Chapter 43 - CHAPTER 43:The Curse of a Goddess

When Lunarya saw Kaelvar's true form and heard his cruel intentions echo through the cavern, something inside her shattered. Her knees buckled, and tears burst from her eyes. Without another word, she vanished from that place—heartbroken beyond repair.

The next morning, she woke in her own bed.

Elion—no, Kaelvar—was lying beside her, his face serene, as if nothing had happened.

Lunarya's body trembled violently. Her breath was short, her soul screaming. Her hands clenched the bedsheets, and she forced herself to stand. She couldn't even look at him.

She walked out and began preparing breakfast, trying to compose her emotions. But behind her calm face, rage and pain boiled.

She placed the food beside him without a word. Then, with a quiet chant, she cast a powerful curse of love upon him—a seal that would cause his heart to tear itself apart should he ever raise his weapon against her.

She returned to her seat, emotionless. Her eyes, once filled with light, were now dim and lifeless.

When I saw her sitting alone in the corner, weeping silently, I knew.

She had learned the truth.

I rushed to her and gently touched her shoulder.

Her body was shaking, and her tears had turned into fury. She turned to me, her voice cracked and trembling.

"He… he is King Kaelvar," she whispered, broken. "He betrayed me. He wanted my heart—for power."

She bit her lip, pain becoming fury.

"I won't let him have it. I will never let him have my heart."

I knelt beside her. "Lunarya… I warned you. But now…"

Before I could finish, a soldier arrived and handed me a scroll. I read it—and even I couldn't hold my rage.

Lunarya snatched it from my hands. As she read, her hands trembled.

"He declared war…" she whispered. "Tomorrow… against the Lycan Clan."

Her eyes filled with tears, and she crushed the scroll in her fist.

"I won't forgive him. For deceiving me, for betraying our love… I'll end him."

She stood up and shouted, voice like thunder, "Prepare for war! No one from our clan is to fall. No one shall die for the sins of the Shadowland King!"

Her aura flared—pure, burning vengeance.

The Battlefield of Betrayal

The next day, the battlefield was not touched by daylight. Darkness cloaked the sky. Mist slithered across the ground. The gods stood in formation, and the Lycan warriors were ready—loyal and unyielding.

Across the field, the Shadowland army emerged like a wave of shadow. At the center stood their king, face hidden beneath a mask.

Lunarya stepped forward, eyes locked on him. Her breath was heavy with emotion. And when Kaelvar removed his mask… tears welled up again in her eyes.

That familiar face.

That man she once loved.

"Kaelvar," she said with fury, "you'll meet your end here."

But he only laughed, dark and cold. "Arya… how could you raise your sword against your man? Against the one who loved you?"

Her heart clenched. She wanted to believe it was all a lie. But she had seen the truth.

Kaelvar grinned. "You knew my plan, and still… you fell for me. You're a fool, Arya."

"Don't call me by that name!" she roared. "You lost the right to say it the moment you betrayed me!"

She charged, sword flashing in the mist.

They clashed—steel on steel, heart against heart.

But Kaelvar was strong. Too strong. She couldn't land a killing blow. Just as he lunged at her with deadly force, something happened.

He stopped. His body shook.

And then—he coughed up blood. Violet blood.

His eyes widened in horror. "What… what is this…?"

Lunarya stood tall, laughing bitterly. "Did you think I'd be that naive? That I'd simply forgive you after watching you plan my death?"

Her voice rose with power. "The night I followed you, I saw everything. So I cursed you. A love-curse—when you point your sword at me, your heart will tear itself apart."

Kaelvar clutched his chest, trembling. His body was weakening. But madness had taken him.

He flew into the sky, sword blazing, screaming, "I will take your heart, even if it kills me!"

"Then die!" she shouted.

He descended like a meteor, but Lunarya stood firm. Her sword was aimed at his heart.

With a final cry, she drove it through his chest—his heart shattered.

Kaelvar gasped as the last of his power drained away.

Tears fell from Lunarya's eyes. "You died in the end, Kaelvar. Just as you deserved."

Then, quietly, she reached into his chest and removed the broken heart. Her own heart bleeding, she pierced hers as well.

From both hearts, a violet stone was formed—one of pain, love, betrayal, and power.

She came to my room, hands trembling, and handed me the stone.

"I will be reincarnated," she said, voice hollow. "And when I am, I will destroy the Shadowland clan—completely."

I took the stone from her, tears running down my face.

"What should I do, Lunarya?"

She looked at me with a weary smile. "I will be born as a normal girl. I'll suffer. I'll grow. I must pay for falling in love with him. But when I remember you—your face, your name, your warmth—then the end will begin."

And with that, she vanished—her soul rising into the skies.

A goddess broken… but not defeated.
