Rin's head snapped up. "No!" His voice broke.
"Please... take me to prison, I don't care where it is! Just not there! I don't want to go to the Vortellion estate! Please!!!"
The enforcer didn't even blink. "Shut him up."
A few hands grabbed him again, forcing him to his knees. The same man turned to the guards.
"Any sign of his accomplice?"
"We're sorry. We couldn't find him. All we know about him is that he's wearing a white robe."
The man then turned back to look at Rin. "A white robe, huh?" Then came the next question. "Where's your accomplice? Who is he?"
Rin's chest tightened. Ezra. He pressed his lips together.
"Aren't you going to answer?"
"I..." Rin lowered his head. His lips trembled but no sound came out. He wasn't going to reveal anything about Ezra.
The enforcer crouched down in front of him, voice low and cold.
"If you don't talk, you get tortured. It's your choice."
Rin's shoulders shook, but he didn't answer.
