Chapter 224 - Chapter 224: Extremes Meet Reversal

In the midst of curses hurled at Gu You, the three fleeing men quickly died from accelerated aging.

"Abandoning your mecha is no different from abandoning your life" Gu You chuckled softly. 'Cursing me won't change the result. In the end, the winner is the one standing.'

There were always voices of discontent, but he never bothered to listen.

He collected the three oddly-shaped black mechas, then shot off like a purple bolt toward the heart of the battlefield.

"No—! What did you do, you bastard!!" a shrill voice echoed from the red mecha in the distance.

To the man inside, the three black mechas meant more than strategic value. They were his sworn brothers, comrades-in-arms who had vowed to forge a new world with him. And now, just like that, they were gone...

"Your opponent is me" Cai Yue'er coldly stepped in, voice as steady as a mountain.

"You'll regret this!" The red mecha flashed away with a sudden burst of speed. In just a breath, it had vanished beyond the horizon, faster than sound—no, at least ten times the speed of sound.

By the time Gu You arrived, the red skull-emblazoned mecha had already escaped. He could only sigh. 'Too fast. Nothing I could do.'

Reinforcements from the Star Luo Empire's military finally arrived. Over three hundred new-model mechas landed on scene… only to realize the battle was over.

They stared blankly, dumbfounded.

Now what were they supposed to do?

"Not bad, kid" Cai Yue'er flew up and patted Gu You's dragon-scaled leg.

"Naturally" Gu You flicked his tail, then reverted back to human form with a flourish.

In the aftermath, the soul train and its tracks had suffered heavy damage and were no longer usable.

The Star Luo Empire dispatched luxurious soul-powered buses to receive them. Hundreds of mechas remained behind to form a full escort battalion.

Although the attack had come without warning, casualties were fortunately minimal. However, the diplomatic implications of such an incident between two continents were anything but minor.

"The situation's been summarized" Wu Zhangkong explained calmly. "The ones who attacked us were from a group called Green Skull. They're a rebellious faction within the Star Luo Empire, possessing significant strength. They've occupied two strategic provinces within the empire. The government has fought them multiple times, but due to the Green Skull's own strong force, the Empire hasn't been able to defeat them. They've only managed to restrict their movements. This attack was clearly meant to stir conflict between the Federation and the Star Luo Empire, buying themselves more time."

The Green Skull's background was easy to uncover.

'A modern warlord faction?' Gu You furrowed his brows. Of course he knew about Green Skull. But what puzzled him was how the Star Luo Empire still hadn't taken back its lost provinces.

'No matter how weak you are, how could you allow rebels to seize two entire provinces? This isn't just weak governance… it's practically pathetic.'

If the Star Luo Empire really was this fragile, then when the Sun Moon Federation decided to launch a war in the future, they wouldn't even need to hesitate. It would be a one-sided slaughter.

With the escort battalion surrounding them, the rest of the journey passed smoothly. Within two days, they reached the capital of the Star Luo Empire—Star Luo City, seated at the very heart of the continent.

The city was vast, and unlike modern cities on the Douluo Continent, it still retained its ancient city walls, giving it the look of a bygone era.

The outer walls were lined with soul tool weapons, forming a defense network—an unmistakable sign of the unrest within the empire.

But once inside, a sense of familiarity returned.

The streets bustled with life. Aside from differences in architecture and fashion, Star Luo City wasn't all that different from Douluo's metropolises.

After such a long voyage—first by sea, then by land—finally reaching a major city felt like shedding a heavy weight for the students of Shrek Academy.

They were accommodated at the luxurious Star Luo Grand Hotel. Perhaps to make up for the earlier ambush, even Gu You was assigned a grand suite.

The hotel's decor was lavish, dominated by gold and white tones. Every corner shimmered with opulence.

The moment he entered the room, Gu You eagerly summoned a yellow-class mecha.

He studied it with interest.

His own mecha, custom-made at the peak of purple-class quality, had been delivered long ago. But because his level had been too low, he seldom used it.

Now, with these yellow, purple, and black mechas as material, he believed it wouldn't be long before he'd build a custom black-class mecha of his own.

After fiddling with the parts for a while, Gu You collapsed onto the plush bed and fell into a deep sleep.

"You idiot, we've lost face for our race!"

"You're the idiot! I swear, we're short one shark king!"

"Forget it, talking to you is a waste of brain cells."

"Then count again and see for yourself…"

When Gu You woke up, he felt refreshed like never before.

He stretched with a loud yawn, then walked over to the window.

Cool, damp air flowed in with the morning breeze, bringing a satisfying sense of peace.

He gazed out toward the east, quietly waiting for that first glimmer of light on the horizon.

Just then, the window next to his slid open.

"Gu You" Gu Yue's voice came softly.

"What is it? You wanna go explore?" Gu You turned and smiled at the figure beside him.

"Yeah, I want to see what's different about the Star Luo Continent compared to Douluo" Gu Yue nodded earnestly.

"Then let's go. Why're you still standing there? Three days—I'll show you around the whole place. Who cares if I'm in debt, this kind of leisure won't last" Gu You laughed as he dashed past her.

Before Gu Yue could react, he grabbed her hand and pulled her along.

The Star Luo Grand Hotel, being the most luxurious in the capital, was naturally located in the city center.

Stepping outside, they found themselves in the heart of a bustling street.

The road was wide and pedestrian-only—no vehicles here. It was known as Star Luo Avenue, the most famous and expansive shopping district in the city. Lined with old-style shops on both sides, it resembled the ancient architecture of Tian Dou City.

Gu You walked leisurely with his hands behind his head, while Gu Yue quietly followed by his side, eyes straight ahead, face expressionless.

"This place's got an old-fashioned charm" Gu You murmured. "Even though it has high-tech soul tools integrated here and there, it still gives a sense of peace."

"Isn't it better to add more soul tools? Wouldn't that make life more convenient, and help strengthen soul tool development too?" Gu Yue looked at him, puzzled.

"What's so good about that?" Gu You shook his head. 'When something reaches its limit, it flips to the opposite. One day, technology will exact a price. Maybe we'll get through it unharmed, but we'll definitely pay in other ways. You…'
