Soon she returned home, her door open with a sound. Her mother gracefully waves at her, "Welcome home, dear daughter!" with a smile
Ava looks at her and shows gratitude with, "Yes, I am home at last" while holding the doorknob that hasn't fully closed
The mother walked up to her and asked, "Honey? What's the matter, you don't seem particularly in high spirits now?" with her hazel eyes
Ava made her walk to the table, pulling the chair away from the table even sat on it where she answered, "Nothing, I found a new source of entertainment – even then I still wondered if I am capable of feeling or actually processing like an actual human."
The mother, named Cassandra, makes her walk near Ava and reassures her, "Ava, my dear, you don't understand you may be different from others, but you are still human like your brother and me."
The mother makes her way to the kitchen to bring out a regular dish for her daughter's return.
A dish with eggs and bacon.
Ava grabbed the fork that was prepared on the table and pitched the egg to her mouth. She chewed the food as it digested in her stomach, and soon it was the bacon's turn.
While she eats her dish, her mind was still in deep thought about her ability to cognize the platonic nature, her metacognition was not very evident or known but her need to recognize any sense of essence that was in her heart and her ability to connect with others or perhaps transcend has been challenged – she was never prompted to think about it until now.
Ava saw her mother as a regular person, she was almost ethereal in a way that people like her would be recognized – her looks were quite eye-catching, soft, feminine face with a slightly shorter flowy hair that embodies femininit,y but to Ava she was a normal person to her as if she was in her higher 20's
she was nice but not too nice – it's clear that she has no acknowledgement of her daughter's personhood with her acknowledging the eugenics experimented done to her it's almost as if Cassandra sees her as a mere younger extension of herself, even wondering what kind of internal roadmap Ava would take as an observer - soon enough Ava got bored and climbed the stairs to her room where she watched animations or videos about her time
Her time was chirping as her eyes are focused on the monitors infront of her computer desk, from a span of minutes to a few hours. She read articles from other people, she watched shows of her time where shows from the bygone era were removed or perhaps obscured in scarcity.
She can only just watch entertainment with detachment. She wanted that longing - her life was so boring and hollow. She wanted to experience more, but no matter how much she tries to imitate anyone in her mind, it didn't work as she pondered through
One must beg to question the very notion of love, to Ava it is ineffable something she cannot fully grasp for her conscious mind as her needs are usually on tandem with her self-preservation - this was the basis of the society she lived in, everything in her world was rich, yet minimalistic and secure nothing but boredom as her blank slate mind
To reiterate, society has gotten its inherent reset after its rulers have left the planet or its plane of existence, who are we to fend for but ourselves in this tapestry of politics and its grandeur majesty to affirm one's own existence with any means necessary, as Ava stared at the monitor
Her brother came, his name was Max, a toddler-looking child with black hair and hazel eyes. He entered the room and asked, "Hey, Ava. Do you have some chips for me?"
Ava looked at him with curiosity, "No, why?"
Max responded with, "I am hungry."
Ava nodded and made her move and asked, "Want me to get some chips for you?"
Ava walks up to her computer and orders chips for him with flavors that Max had told her about, flavors that bear resemblance to cheese or crackers.
Ava then sat on her chair, relaxing. She did not fully notice that the obedience for her brother was out of love and adoration – as she was used to having her brother max her biological relative in their house, but she wasn't sure if what she was doing was love it seemed like a biological or moral imperative for her to do; as soon as she is finally done satisfying Max
She hopped on her bed and read books she borrowed from the library. One would say that she is still in her bed, wondering about the platonic sense of relationship, as she never considered the love and care of her parents
Although she did somewhat well in school, it was something expected by her parents due to her nature.
She never even considered too much about the origins of her cybernetic brain, as she believes it is the consequence of the civilization she was raised in, where anyone can be cybernetic, given the abundance of wealth they may possess.
As she lay in the bed, her cybernetic brain connected to the network, listening to stuff of various articles and a surge of information that was overflowing to her inner computer interface
But at the same time, when connecting to the internet, she is vulnerable to psychological alterations or overwhelming stimuli.
Seeing herself inexplicably on the precipice of awakening aside from her past NPC-like nature, she became aware of her fundamental human nature, even semi-aware of things beyond what her materialistic and boring life has concealed from her, used to having things done for her easily by her techno-bio origins
Ava continues to interface with the internet of her world. She became more aware than ever, but it's still nascent; alas, she continues to indulge her time in the network through her mind.
She started to absorb trivial information or news; some of the information were so mundane that it was like a jumbled, encrypted mess in her memories.
Just a little bit of her at the age of 6 she learned C and its rudiments, at the age of 12 she learnt basic electronics, and so on. Her mind can understand and piece together machine language as English, but is unable to speak it due to a lack of proper vocalization to say it out loud.
She felt hungry and decided to order some food online to keep her dopamine steady and optimal while she worked on a project regarding technology. But it's mostly just hobbyistic technology.
She even dabbles in other areas like robotics and advanced algorithms, where she applies all her knowledge to her frivolous tasks
Just to stave off boredom, actually, this is how she staves off boredom, usually looking at today's technology trend and learning how to do nerdy stuff
She also has a hobby of reverse engineering, the art of breaking codes to do other things as well
She peered through every line of code on the screen with utmost efficiency
One is a program written by an AI, prematurely showing a lot of memory addresses that can be easily touched upon by an injection, presumably a client-to-client software.
She continued to dabble with code, eventually she got bored and made programs out of fun, she typed on the keyboard with hectic activity
Ava then moves the mouse around, where she browses the internet full of threads, one with innocuous memes and cutesy posts. She moves the cursor to her whims, exploring every thread that piques her interest, once again staving off her boredom.
Not only that she play videos on the internet times two the speed of normal, since she is confident that she can binge and retain the information gathered from every video she comes across in her mind, whether it be in a file format
She was still on her computer until it was time for her to rest. She rested for a few minutes, still thinking about what to do with her life. She lay on the bed, as gravity pulled her to the futuristic bed with displays of closets with a pleasant plastic-like texture on her room's walls
She pondered life. She was just there staring up in the room, bored to tears. She did everything in her mind to stimulate dopamine, but it meant nothing
As she stared, her eyes were starting to flicker like it was about to shut down
But to her surprise, she was still awake, and she was still in her resting state
"What to do, what should I do now?"
Ava stood from her bed. She is still lost on what she wants to do; her own weary inner state is killing her. She craved an experience where she could be something else.
She is still lost, trying to integrate herself.
Wondering. Processing
Deciding to see life beyond her current self that she stood and mobilized.
