Chapter 112 - Big Blue

Yzaks was still patiently reasoning with the witcher leader. It was incredibly strange for this 6'15" wretch to be crouching on the ground and discussing harmonious development. The witcher leader was completely lost for words and could only listen blankly as this psychopath rambled on, now venturing into the realm of space exploration. "...So, to sum up, the ultimate path forward for civilization lies in all races eradicating their hatred and uniting to jointly develop this planet. Since we all share the same universe, any conflict, from a macro perspective, is merely internal friction, reducing the potential for civilization's development and its eventual journey into the universe. But you shouldn't be impressed by these high-level topics, so let's discuss your perspectives." Y'zaks spoke for over ten minutes, finally finishing his sermon. He raised his hand and pointed in the direction of Kevin and the others. "My friends are examples of harmonious multiracial coexistence. Look, vampires, werewolves, and humans—they're said to be incompatible on this planet, yet look how peaceful they are together. Why can't you try to be more open-minded? Little brother, listen to my advice. Open your heart, accept the world, and be a good person." The witcher leader stared at Y'zaks for a moment with the expression one would expect after a lengthy lecture (i.e., dementia). In his limited life and worldview, he had never experienced anything like this: a being of unknown origin, incredibly powerful, and menacing, unmistakably the leader of a monster, easily knocked the witcher down, not only not killing him, but crouching down and lecturing on man and nature for over ten minutes… He had lost all desire to resist, but instinctively refused to nod, so he sighed, "Please, knock me out too."

The witcher leader spoke, glancing enviously at his unconscious colleague next to him. It seemed like being the first to be knocked out was a good thing; at least his colleague's worldview was preserved. Y'zaks glanced at the stubborn witcher with regret, then knocked him unconscious with a blow. He sighed softly, "Alas, the good in people's hearts is always bound by bigotry. You missed an opportunity to cleanse your heart."

After dispatching the two witchers, Y'zaks stood up and approached Kevin with a smile. "Alright, is everything alright? I'll try to teach them a lesson... but the witchers in your world are even more stubborn than I expected. Just like the paladins back home."

"'Your world'?" Kasa Eben was a little stunned. "Where... where did this expert come from?"

"Are these the two werewolves who kidnapped Lily?" Y'zaks looked at Kasa and Yun, a satisfied smile on his face. "It seems the misunderstanding has been resolved. I was planning to talk to you about this issue of harmonious coexistence..."

The two werewolves quickly retreated, their necks dwindling. The "good guy logic" of this villain before them was simply too deranged. "Back home... did you often teach others this way?" Vivian couldn't help but ask. It was clear from her that Y'zaks's rhetoric wasn't improvised; it was as if he had memorized it thoroughly. "Oh, yes," Y'zaks chuckled, understanding what Vivian meant. "You know, our race is generally quite stubborn, and the racial tensions back home aren't much different than here. My ideas are more progressive, so it's hard for them to accept them. I just have to patiently educate them this way."

Finally, he explained the details carefully: "Usually, I'd hang them up to educate them. I'd beat them while I taught them how to be good people. If they didn't obey, I'd keep beating them. When they were half dead, I'd let them down and make them copy the Chivalric Code. After that, I'd hang them up again and beat them again. Back then, I had a decent army and commander under my command. They were all helpful, honest, trustworthy, kind, and polite demons. They were basically raised this way. I even boiled the most stubborn Shadow Demon in lava for over four years before he agreed to help an old lady cross the street. It wasn't easy... Alas, it's all in the past now, so let's not talk about it."

Y'zaks sighed with a touch of sadness as he spoke. Kevin and Vivian stared at each other, their perspectives shattered. This great demon... his powerful "good guy logic" is definitely flawed! Even if his intentions are sound, his promotional methods are flawed! But when Kevin thought about Yzaks's race and the situation in his hometown, he felt that outsiders couldn't say anything. In the end, he could only sigh and silently mutter to himself, "The racial differences are truly amazing."

"Don't ask too much about my friend's affairs." Kevin noticed the two werewolves nearby looking at Yzaks with curiosity, so he briefly mentioned it. "Everyone has their secrets, and my friend doesn't like others to pay attention to his past. Of course, if you two talk nonsense, I can't do anything about it, but he will definitely make you talk about integrity for two hours..."

Kasa and Yun nodded their heads as if they were electrocuted. Just by the speed of their nodding, Kevin was sure these two wouldn't cause trouble in the future. "What should we do with these two demon hunters?" Vivian stepped forward to inspect the captives, stripping them of several pieces of equipment as if intending to keep them. Then, the vampire girl angrily kicked each of them. "Big man, are you really going to let them go? I don't recommend it. These guys are colder than the undead. They claim to be fighting evil and upholding justice, but in reality, they're completely shameless. If you let them go today, they'll arrive with two battalions of reinforcements tomorrow."

Kevin immediately thought of silencing them. To be honest, he was quite reluctant about this idea. After all, he was just an ordinary man, never exposed to such a dark and bloody world. But after experiencing the life-and-death confrontation just now, Kevin knew that some things could not be avoided by resistance. Caught in the middle of a life-and-death struggle, you are destined not to be righteous to everyone. But just as Kevin was struggling with this, Y'zaks waved his hand, "Let's not deal with it anymore. Let's see what Big Blue has to say."

As soon as he finished speaking, Kevin heard a strange humming sound from above, like the sound of high-frequency electricity. Then, a pale blue circular vortex suddenly appeared several meters in the air. Lightning flashed within the vortex, crackling as all the lightning converged into a single point, condensing into a familiar, tall figure that descended to the ground.

It was a pale blue, translucent humanoid creature, its body a woven fabric of lightning and mist. Kevin recognized it immediately: it was one of Raven 12345's arcane servants!

So, the "Big Blue" Y'zaks was referring to was this guy. Well, the description was quite apt.

"The blue one was already there when I arrived at the warehouse," Y'zaks explained with a smile. "He took care of the remaining witchers there, and he also found your data terminal. Your terminal said two witchers had escaped and might be heading your way, so I followed its lead. That's what happened."

Kevin finally understood the whole story. He looked at the arcane servant in surprise: "Did Raven 12345 send you?"

The blue creature emitted a series of uneven buzzing sounds. Although it wasn't a language, Kevin could understand its meaning. It said, "The mistress knew this matter was a bit difficult for you, so she sent me here to help. She told me to intervene when you were about to be beaten to death. However, I waited for a long time and didn't see you beaten half to death, so I had to finish the job in the end."

Kevin: "..."

This arcane servant was so honest!

Vivian interrupted, "What about these witchers..."

"I'll take them back. The mistress will take care of them." The arcane servant opened his hand, and the two witchers were instantly enveloped in a blue light and vanished. "The mistress told me to tell you: Don't travel far for the time being. You might have new missions."

With that, the arcane servant opened a portal and prepared to leave. Kevin hurriedly asked, "Why didn't she contact me directly? Why did she need you to pass on a message?"

The arcane servant's figure gradually disappeared into the portal's light curtain. Only a faint voice echoed in Kevin's mind: "She forgot your number..."

The slight gratitude Kevin had felt for Raven 12345's "secret concern" was instantly gone.
