In fact, Kevin felt a little regretful the moment he threw the data terminal: What if the woman across from him actually took it and ran away? By then, he might not be able to successfully request a new one from Raven 12345...
But it turned out that not everyone was as reckless as Kevin's gang. Scar Woman saw a hexagonal metal plate gleaming with blue light flying towards her, and her first reaction was a hidden weapon. Seeing the faint blue light, she didn't even dare to block it, fearing it might explode. So she teleported twenty meters away, and as soon as she appeared, she raised her crossbow and unleashed an arrow with a "bang!"
But this time, Kevin was prepared, his body already in shape. The moment the silver crossbow bolt flew towards him, he decisively dodged and rolled sideways... and was struck in the knee by an arrow.
Scar Woman watched this scene with a mixture of confusion. The strange man before her had a professional fighting style, his movements and dodging looked quite realistic, but he was still hit every time he dodged... As a professional, she didn't quite understand what Kevin was doing. Kevin himself was frustrated. Human reflexes couldn't keep up with a powerful crossbow within twenty meters. Just as he dodged, he heard several more sharp dings from his back. It was some demon hunter, unbeknownst to him, firing a sneak shot at him.
After dodging several times, he finally realized one thing: those bullet-dodging pros on TV were all lies. This was the age of shield-to-shield warfare. Since he had a rigid shield, it was better for him to just be a tank and face the enemy head-on.
With this in mind, he began to neither dodge nor evade, pushing his speed to the limit, lunging towards the nearest demon hunter!
A demon hunter's teleportation couldn't be performed continuously; there was a two- to three-second buffer between teleports. Kevin had discovered this by accident during the previous battle. This mere two- to three-second cooldown was almost shameless, but it was his only chance to catch his opponent. Kevin firmly believed that as long as he was fast enough, he could always defeat the unlucky ones who didn't react in time. But that only meant his rigid shield could hold up until that moment. Ding, ding, ding! The crisp clash of metal continued. Each time a crossbow bolt exploded into smithereens, another witcher lost precious enchanted ammunition. Kevin had stumbled upon a way to defeat those infinite-ammunition hand crossbows: simply make the enemy fire at him!
Encouraged by this thought, he simply tore off his tattered outer garment and threw it aside. Standing in the middle of the clearing, he jeered, "You sons of bitches! Fire at me!"
The witchers exchanged glances. They had already noticed that the man with the strange shield was an untouchable freak; attacking him would be a waste of ammunition. Glancing at their dwindling silver crossbow bolts, the witchers tacitly excluded Kevin from their attack and focused on dealing with the others. "Oh my god!" Kevin noticed the situation had suddenly changed. He was jumping around on the field, but no one bothered to bother him. Feeling ignored, he once again zeroed in on the scarred woman who had attacked him earlier and charged forward, "I'm talking to you! Come on, hit me! Come on, hit me!"
The scarred woman, stunned, jumped aside, dodging Kevin's attack. Raising her crossbow, she didn't know whether to attack or not. After a long pause, she pleaded for help from the person next to her: "Roan! You deal with this psychopath!"
"Why don't you go? I'm almost out of arrows!"
"J. You do it!"
"Get out of the way! You don't have any money for holy silver, do you?"
Taking advantage of the moment (or perhaps these witchers really didn't want to keep an eye on him), Kevin suddenly pounced behind the tall man closest to him: "Then I'm going to hit you!"
With a single punch, he finally dispatched the first one.
The battle became even more chaotic. Vivian was still locked in a battle with the witcher leader. Leveraging her bat-like ability to disintegrate at will, she was temporarily unfazed by his attacks. However, the witcher leader had more than just crossbows to rely on. He possessed a vast array of bizarre demon-destroying items, including talismans and spells, all of which were extremely formidable. For the time being, Vivian was completely helpless. Furthermore, the recent battle with the two werewolves had drained considerable energy, and her situation wasn't optimistic. The two werewolves of the Eben family were in even worse shape. Perhaps due to their imposing appearance attracting excessive aggression, they were being targeted by the surrounding witchers. Several black figures in long trench coats constantly flashed around them. Each appearance brought a barrage of crossbow bolts. Kasar Eben's body was already covered in several scars that shimmered with an eerie silver light. These scars, like a living being, slowly spread across his body, weakening the werewolves' fighting power with each passing moment. Eun Eben, thanks to his slightly superior speed, was temporarily unharmed, but his stamina was likely to be exhausted before Kasar. The witchers weren't completely unscathed either. After Kevin defeated the first witcher with his tactics (let's call them tactics, for now)... I mean, tactics! Vivian, seizing the enemy's attention while they were focused on the two werewolves, dispatched a small swarm of bats to launch a surprise attack. One witcher, attacked by the venomous vampire bats, fell to the ground in an instant, covered in black blood, his life or death unknown. Kasar Eben, using a wound-for-wound tactic, forcibly defeated one enemy, but the witcher's close-quarters combat abilities were exceptionally formidable. Before he collapsed, his holy silver dagger pierced Kasar Eben's shoulder. The strange power of the dagger transformed Kasar Eben's entire arm into a solid block of silver, effectively rendering Kasar incapable of combat.
"Asshole!" Eben's furious cry suddenly rang out from the side. After expending considerable energy, he finally missed. A large, silver-gleaming crossbow bolt pierced his lower abdomen, pinning him directly to the outer wall of a factory building!
A burst of lightning erupted from the crossbow, and Eun lost consciousness before he could even resist. Kasa was furious at the sight, but he was powerless to rush to his aid. He could only watch as the attacking witcher retrieved a small, pale yellow vial to collect Eun's blood. This was witchers' custom: they would collect samples from their enemies, much like gathering materials after hunting. The blood of a werewolf, released within a minute of being knocked unconscious, possessed a powerful force, the raw material for many of the witchers' strange potions.
The two werewolves were already incapacitated, the vampire was being harassed by their leader, and the man with the strange shield was being dealt with by others. The witcher who had gone to collect the "raw materials" had clearly decided that the battle was over.
