Chapter 97 - Not Returning

Vivian's plan to "collaborate with Big Dog to develop new kebab technology and become rich" finally failed on the second day. The reason for the failure wasn't the plan itself, but Lily's inability to control her appetite. This idiot would devour practically every piece of meat in sight, even the failed ones she'd roasted to charcoal. Her obsession was so intense that she wouldn't change, and Vivian realized it would be difficult to continue working with this husky...

Now, let's talk about Lily. The husky girl was quite pleased with her new claws. Although no one could explain the mechanism behind her evolution, which resulted in these detachable claws, Lily herself clearly didn't dwell on it. She simply found these sharp claws, made of neither metal nor stone, quite useful, and so she practiced kung fu diligently every day, even though others might have thought she was just jumping around and waving them around aimlessly. Kevin could quite understand Lily's excitement. After all, since birth, this idiot's only strength had qualified her as an "alien." Beyond that brute force, she possessed few if any skills. As Vivian put it, even the most useless werewolves possessed one or two innate skills, like poison and shadow cloaking, techniques known as "semi-magic." But Lily possessed none of these. Having never encountered other aliens before, she hadn't felt any sense of loss. But now that she'd met Vivian and heard so much about her "kind" from the vampire girl, she was naturally itching to try something new. Even though her evolution had brought her a shocking change in her identity... at least this superpower had finally appeared. How could she not be jumping for joy? Early this morning, Kevin went for a stroll as usual. He bought Lily her favorite meat bones and a few bags of spicy noodles, and also brought back some new kitchen utensils and fresh vegetables for the vampire at home. He felt more and more like a nanny or guardian for the two abnormal girls than a normal landlord, but he felt that this kind of life was not bad. After all, the abnormal creatures could get their daily expenses reimbursed by Raven 12345, so he just needed to make sure his tenants were happy. This mindless pace of life was quite pleasant.

But this time, as soon as Kevin pushed the door open, he noticed something: "Why isn't Y'zaks home?"

The great demon would sit on the sofa in the living room at this time every day, watching TV and studying the affairs of Earthlings. It was a regular habit of his. When Kevin saw that the sofa was empty, his first thought was that Y'zaks was not home. "The big guy's out," Vivian casually said, vacuuming the living room. "He said he wanted to find something to do. He's bored sitting around all day."

Kevin was about to nod subconsciously when he suddenly realized he was jumping up half a meter. "What?! He's out?! Why didn't you stop him?"

"Why stop him?" Vivian looked at Kevin curiously. "He's free to go out. This isn't a prison."

Kevin was speechless, gesturing for a long time before realizing it was difficult to explain Y'zaks's appearance to a nonhuman being. And more importantly, Vivian was right. He's free to go out. You can't restrict someone's movements just because his face is prone to causing trouble. Honestly, Y'zaks' transformation from a giant demon over five meters tall to a muscular man over two meters tall was a remarkable plastic surgery. Even if he still didn't look very good afterward... at least he tried his best, right?

Kevin could only wave his hand. "Hopefully he doesn't get into trouble with the local police. I'll just stay with him. I can save the day in a pinch. By the way, did he say when he'd be back?"

Lily, just then, emerged from the room carrying a small suitcase. Overhearing Kevin and Vivian's conversation, she casually replied, "He said he wants to visit the human city center. He spent most of his time in England sleeping in the alternate dimension, so he didn't see enough. This time, he's going out to broaden his horizons. He'll be back by the afternoon at the earliest, perhaps even the evening. He said he wants to eat out and get accustomed to human society."

Kevin noticed something was amiss and asked nervously, "Does he have any money?"

Lily nodded. "I'll lend him two hundred."

Kevin's heart was instantly at ease. He hoped the great demon didn't get into trouble, or he'd be seeing him only in the legal system in a few days. A man who could make a robbery noise even while shopping in a supermarket and attract a swarm of plainclothes police tailgaters even while walking down the street, yet for his first outing, he chose to wander the bustling city center. Haha…

"Are you going out?" Kevin asked casually, suddenly noticing Lily carrying her suitcase and looking ready to go.

Lily nodded. "Yes, I've agreed with Green Bean. We'll take him to the doctor at 9:30 AM."

It took Kevin a while to realize that "Green Bean" was the name of a stray dog from the next street. Originally, stray dogs in this area didn't have names, but after the arrival of "Liu Lili, the Kind-hearted and Wandering Miraculous Doctor," she gave all the stray dogs in the area names. Green Bean was a Chinese native dog (a local dog) with a problem in his hind legs. He was named because Lily was chewing a green bean popsicle when they first met. Due to his chronic leg problem, he was one of Lily's regular patients. Every time Lily mentioned the dogs in the southern suburbs, Kevin had to react. In that erotic worldview, there was no distinction between humans and dogs; in her eyes, dogs and people were the same. Therefore, whenever she mentioned her "patients," she spoke as if she were talking about acquaintances. Kevin, who had lived with her for over a month, still needed to react to understand who she was talking about. Last time, when Lily and Kevin were having dinner together, she casually remarked, "Prince Reinhardt from the neighborhood seems to have been talking about you a lot lately." Kevin had to ponder it until 2:30 in the afternoon before he realized that "Prince Reinhardt" was the Chow Chow that the Zhang family kept on the back street... He almost thought he actually had a long-lost uncle from a European aristocrat! Vivian put down the vacuum cleaner and pointed at the spareribs on the table. "Are you coming back for lunch?"

Lily swallowed quickly, nodding her head frantically. "Come back, come back! Bat, don't eat my bones!"

"Who wants to fight with a big dog like you for food?" Vivian said, carrying the bag of spareribs to the kitchen. "If you come back, I'll stew the meat for you right now. It'll be well-seasoned by lunchtime."

Kevin watched Lily and Vivian's normal conversation and felt a surge of emotion. "You two are finally getting along."

As expected, two screams rang out. "Who's on good terms with Bat (Big Dog)?"

Kevin chuckled and finally coaxed Lily out the door. Then he sat on the sofa, opened his data terminal, and wanted to see if there had been any response to the report he had sent to Raven 12345 two days ago. Kevin finished his report the day after Lily's transformation. While the writing wasn't great, it essentially detailed the process of "werewolf transforming into a husky." He figured even Raven 12345, even if it was unreliable, would have reacted quickly to such a surprising report. However, when he opened his data terminal, he saw only a "read" stamp on his report. That psychopath hadn't even left a comment. Kevin casually sent a contact request to Raven, but the response was a seemingly solemn, yet in reality unethical automated reply: "The God you called upon isn't home. Please leave a message after the beep. If believers are in an emergency, please consult the self-service Divine Revelation - Prayer System. If servants or other military personnel are in an emergency, please consult the self-service assistance terminal. If an official examiner is in an emergency, please call for reinforcements from the nearest armed support unit. If Kevin is in an emergency, please use your inner strength and faith to carry it through."

Kevin: "..."

"This machine has a suggestion," the data terminal suddenly said. "You can rush to the office of the 12345 commander, knife in hand, summon her arcane servants, and then challenge her in a one-on-one fight. From the office to the archives, from the archives to the power room, and finally, fill the local channel with a barrage of comments calling her a psychopath."

"Will that make her appreciate my talent and value?"

"No, it's a more dignified death, and at least you'll be on the headlines of the local channel."

Kevin thought for a moment, then handed the data terminal to Vivian. "Throw it in the kitchen and cook for half an hour, adding lots of cilantro."

"Try it if you dare! Believe it or not, this machine can drill a hole right through your pot!"

The entire morning flew by as Kevin and the data terminal bickered, and then... Lily didn't come back at noon.
