The Himejima and Yasaka weren't the only ones informed of the possible upcoming war between the Yokais and the Five Principal Clans.
Some notable organizations and factions prominent in Japan were also informed of the situation, such as The Order, a group of Assassins from ancient Japan to Modern Times.
Their response to the situation? Ignore them and avoid contact with the Yokais and the Five Principal clans. Stop visiting shrines and get away from the main territories of the two parties.
They might be feared for being a group of high-quality assassins but only humans fear them. To the real powerhouses such as the Yokais or the Shinto faction, what they do is simply child's play in front of their eyes.
Aside from them, the Underworld was also informed of the upcoming chaotic current.
"Reinforce our territories and mind our businesses. Don't interfere in their war." was the order that Sirzechs gave to Cleria Belial who is overseeing the affairs of Kuoh Town, a place where he invested most of his human wealth.
Kuoh Academy, Kuoh Hospital, large businesses, restaurants, and even a construction company, all of which are under his name.
He's practically a big shot in the human world in terms of being one of the wealthiest men in the world.
Though with how fast technology evolves, no doubt his friend, Ajuka would overtake him sooner or later. His tech companies are finally gaining traction.
Aside from the Underworld, Grigori also caught wind of it thanks to a certain individual.
"What you're doing there is risky. Seriously, falling in love with the princess of a clan that hates us to the bone? It takes a steady gut to do that."
Azazel, first and current leader of the Grigori, couldn't help but chuckle at his long-time friend's action.
Baraqiel sighed, agreeing with Azazel's words. Though he can't help it. He's just that infatuated with the princess.
Azazel's face suddenly turned serious as he warned, "But seriously, what you're doing is risky not for you but to your wife and daughter. If her family ever finds out, you know what will happen, right?"
Baraqiel's face turned grim as he was suddenly reminded of the consequences of his actions.
"I-I know. But I won't let anything happen to her. I'll make sure of it."
Azazel smiled and nodded his head, "Good, that's the Baraqiel I know."
"So about this war. What do you intend to do about it?" Azazel continued with a question.
"…I have a plan. Hear me out."
Azazel smirked, "Hit it."
———
"Well well well…Looks like the opportunity just served it to us on a silver platter." Shalba excitedly giggled, clutching the report in his hands.
A war between the Yokais and the Shinto faction? Count him in!
When it comes to war, he's the best, the greatest, and most of all, the one who seeks it the most.
He grew up in a war and he shall die in a war!
"These two wouldn't mind a third party, will they?"
———
Oblivious to the swirling chaos that he had just brewed, the perpetrator of the upcoming war was relaxing on a beach, his mother being massaged by his father with a lotion under an umbrella while his sister played on the sand, building sand structures while giggling creepily.
"This must be the beach episode that I've been waiting for…" Sighed Kenshin in satisfaction.
He tried inviting Alya and Sawako but the two refused due to reasons of studying magic. Well, he knew that was a lie, they wanted to accept but only if the other side wasn't invited. They seem to want to go with him to the beach but alone.
Their small rivalry is going nowhere, I have already planned a Harem and I'm not changing my mind, mulled Kenshin before sipping on the iced tea with a small umbrella.
Since the two refused, he also tried his luck on Yasaka but also gave the same answer with a different excuse.
Busy handling the repercussions of his action.
Or in this case, their actions as Yasaka's in on it.
So without a choice, he was forced to invite his parents who accepted but included the perverted Tomoko.
Kenshin slightly pulled his shades downward and watched as Tomoko was halfway finish building her sand structure, Look at her go, building her first sand dick that…looks a bit like mine?
Kenshin's lips twitched several times as he realized what Tomoko was trying to do.
Without any hint of hesitation, Kenshin jumped out of his wooden sunlounger and delivered a spinning kick towards the massive half dick sand structure!
"YOSHAAA!" Kenshin gave a victory sign as his swift kick destroyed the structure into pieces.
Tomoko cried, "NOOOO!!! MY MASTERPIECE!!"
Hearing this, Kenshin crashed out and rushed towards her, "What do you mean by your masterpiece? That was my dick, you piece of shit!"
"UWAAAHHH!" Seeing him run, Tomoko felt her soul jump out in fright as she bolted as far away as possible from her big brother whose clearly out for blood!
And hence, the chase between the two started.
"Look at them, bonding between siblings. It's nice to see them back to what they used to be…"
Watching this, their mother couldn't help but sigh in satisfaction as she felt like she had just achieved something great.
Behind her, her husband strained a smile as he tried to resume his work, "Right. Anyways, do you want me to do your front to—?"
"No." Only to be rejected in a millisecond.
"Noooo!"
———
"Huff! Huff! Huff!" Seeing his little sister panting like a dog filled Kenshin with a sense of satisfaction.
Kenshin shook his head and clicked his tongue in disappointment, adding salt to the wound, "That's it? We barely covered a kilometer and you're already near passing out? I don't know about Ddraig but if I were him, you don't seem worthy to have my power."
"K-Krrghh!" Tomoko clutched her chest as if his words broke her heart and soul.
"Let's go. Just drink something cold and you're good to go." Kenshin held Tomoko's hand and started dragging her towards one of the beach stands.
Kenshin raised two of his fingers and said to the lady behind the stand, "Two ice Mugichas please."
"Y-Yes." He watched in amusement as the lady blushed after seeing him and was slightly shivering while preparing their drinks. Clearly nervous.
Is this her first time seeing someone handsome? Or I'm just more handsome than normal? Kenshin flashed a smile as he caressed his chin.
Which unintentionally made the lady blush even more and accidentally poured more barley than usual.
"W-Wahh!"
Sigh, handsome men's problems, ugly people won't get it, Kenshin shook his head in disappointment and sarcasm.
Behind him, Tomoko no longer felt exhausted and instead, was glaring at both her brother and the blushing lady.
"Grr!" She growled, her fists clenching as she raised the hand that was holding her Kenshin to show it off.
When the lady saw this, her face turned sour and disappointed.
Seeing this, Tomoko's lips turned smug as she flaunted her closeness with Kenshin.
"H-Here you go." The lady stuttered as she finished the two glasses of Mugicha.
Kenshin grabbed it and handed the other one to Tomoko before leaving the stand, much to the stand lady's dismay.
Since Kenshin barely felt the chasing earlier, he just sipped a few times before handing his glass to Tomoko who was already finished with hers.
Burp!
"S-Sorry!" Her face turned beet red with embarrassment, though that didn't stop her hand from taking Kenshin's Mugicha glass and downing it all in one go.
Kenshin chuckled, "You should get used to it. Starting from now on, I'll whip your body into good condition before we start with the magical training. You're too petite and frail that you can barely lift your mouse."
Tomoko felt a growing sense of shame inside her when she heard him. Staying inside her room for almost half a year has its downsides.
She doesn't exercise, she barely moves from her bed to her chair and sometimes outside to take an empty bottle to piss on.
Practically before Kenshin took over her brother's body, she was a total shut-in and if it wasn't for him, maybe she would still be holed up in her room as a rotting corpse stuck on the bed.
They went back to the beach with Tomoko once again building another sand structure but with Kenshin's guidance, she no longer builds anything unusual.
The day ended that way, with the family of four sleeping in a dorm that they rented.
———
"Sona-tan! I have a surprise for you—eh?"
Jumping inside her little sister's room, Serafall excitedly tiptoed only to abruptly stop when she saw Sona sitting on the bed with the chessboard in front of her.
Serafall curiously jumped near the bed and asked,
"What're you doing, Sona-tan?"
Sona's brows frowned, for some reason, hearing her sister calling her Sona-tan made her remember what happened a few days ago in the human world.
"Don't call me that, sis." She muttered silently, this is the fifth time she reminded Serafall.
Serafall feigned knocking herself on the head while sticking her tongue out in a cute way, "Oh, right, my bad! Tee-hee!"
"So, what are you doing? Big sister is suuperrr curious!"
"…It's just chess. I just figured out how to play this game by myself." Sona said seriously, if someone were to hear her they would think she's joking considering her age.
However, she's not. She's truly discovered how to enjoy the game by herself.
Unfortunately, that's where Serafall got lost. Don't blame her, chess is not her forte even when Ajuka once tried to teach her about it, only to fall asleep halfway when he was about to explain the rules.
"What do you mean? You're not even making any moves, the chess pieces are supposed to move, right?" Serafall could only scratch her head in confusion.
Sona sighed heavily, then shook her head, "I just finished. I lost to myself."
"Wha—!? How can you lose to yourself!? Is that even possible?"
What in the nine layers of hell is going on?!
Sona snorted at her big sister's lack of profound intelligence in the human's greatest creation called chess.
"It's simple. I learned that when I try to play on the board, my mind unknowingly plays against myself as if they're in a script. So I realized that if I play chess inside my mind and avoid using the physical chess board, I can challenge myself while at the same time, avoid accidentally creating a script…"
"Eh? Is that even possible?" Serafall was gobsmacked. This is her first time hearing that you can play chess both in your mind and against yourself.
Sona raised her finger as her face took a serious turn, her eyes still staring at the air in front of her, "Shh, I'm going to take the Queen."
"…O-Okay. Good luck to you and…yourself, I guess?"
Feeling like her little sister is acting a bit weird today, Serafall decided to scratch her plan of inviting her to the Gremory household to introduce her to Sirzechs's little sister, Rias.
Well, I heard Rias's birthday is coming this week, so I can just go ahead and buy a gift and reschedule our visit for that day, Serafall was quick to adapt.
She deserves to be the strongest water user in the entire Underworld, after all, water is sometimes known to be adaptable depending on the situation.
Right exactly as she left Sona's room, she heard one last cry from her sister, "Damn it! Take. Take. Take…"
"I should probably ask Ajuka if playing chess against yourself in your mind is normal…" muttered Serafall under her breath.
She continued, "Maybe I should take her to chess competitions in the human world. I heard there are various masters and grandmasters there…"
Unbeknownst to her, Sona just heard her mutter, and her purple eyes shone in a quick flash of realization and excitement.
