The vanguard general was getting closer and closer to the small path. Just one last turn before he'd reach it.
Right then, his mind was still lost in fantasies about a bright future, completely clueless about the danger waiting ahead.
Just as he turned the corner,
All of a sudden,
"Creak!" rang out, followed by two vicious sword flashes.
"Crash!"
"Slash!"
The vanguard general's sandy head went flying.
He stared in complete shock—there were actually two terrifying monsters waiting in ambush on the small path!
In the last second before blacking out, he suddenly remembered something, the corners of his mouth turned up, and he actually smiled:
"Goodbye... goodbye, Jennifer!"
A single tear hit the ground, and the vanguard general crumbled into a pile of black sand with a thunderous crash!
After taking down the fleeing creature, a glint of light from the black sand pile suddenly caught a Shield Guard's eye.
"Roar?"
