The silence that followed his confession made his heart pound harder. Everyone at Draconic Academy knew about his inability to bond with a dragon, but not everyone was aware of the true reason behind his curse.
There had been many speculations ever since he joined the academy, and the only ones who knew about the curse were his family and the masters.
Not even Kael and Veyr knew about the curse, so as he revealed it, it felt as if a burden had been lifted from his chest. Yet, his heart raced wildly because they all stared at him with confusion evident on their faces.
Ryn was the first to move closer to him. "This curse? What is it?"
Sylas looked at him. "I…" He didn't know how to begin, and the stares he received from everyone made him feel as though he was being judged.
He had to remind himself that, even though they were close, it was only because of Ryn, and he didn't want to reveal his secrets so easily.
"I…" he tried to say something, but he stuttered.
