"Young master!"
The servant's voice brought Ryn out of his thoughts. He fluttered his eyes open and looked around to see that they were still in the courtyard. The memories he had gotten were of Ryn's mistreatment, and he had been so engrossed in them that he had no idea he had been standing there for long. He looked at the dark water again and started walking.
"Let's go," he muttered.
Ryn's mind was filled with so many thoughts swirling in his head.
How could anyone be so inhumane? Why was Ryn accepted into the Varyn's clan if they were going to treat him like that? He had only seen half of the life that the real Ryn had lived, and he wondered about the things he had to endure that weren't in his memory.
And it brought him to the question of who Ryn's mother was.
They walked past a rustic wooden house with a thatched roof, and Ryn stopped to look at it. That was the only building in the mansion that was not made of bricks.
