The pounding of his heart increased as the carriage stopped in front of a mansion. He was here. At the Varyn's mansion, where he had no memory of.
"Thank you," he muttered as he followed the servant who led him to the front door, but there were two doors a few feet apart.
One was a tall, imposing structure framed by vibrant red pillars topped with an intricately carved wooden lintel. It had a dark tiled roof that extended gracefully, and above the door was an inscription, "Varyn's Mansion," in elegant, weathered lettering etched into a polished wooden plaque.
The other door was made of dark, weathered wood with a slightly curved tiled roof. The wood showed signs of age with peeling paint and a rough texture.
Ryn stared at both doors for a moment, wondering why there were two and where it leads to. He heaved a deep sigh and chose the first door. Just as he took a step forward, a voice yelled at him.
