The narrator said, "Joseph spent a whole year in North Dakota while Megan and Travis lived in their place in Transylvania." When the year was over, Megan and Travis bought a bigger place in Transylvania. Then they called Joseph in North Dakota, and Joseph answered. Joseph said, "Hello." Megan said, "Hi, Joseph. Since you answered the phone, I guess it's not a full moon." Joseph said, "No, which means my powers are useless for tonight." Megan said, "Well, we have good news. We moved to a bigger place in Transylvania. Now you can move back in with us." Joseph said, "Really?" Megan said, "Yep." Joseph said, "Thank you. I'll be there tomorrow, just not with my stuff."
The narrator said, "The next day, Joseph went to Transylvania, and Megan and Travis showed him around their new place. They gave him a full tour of the house and even showed him his room in the basement. Joseph was wonderful with it. They even told him about the furniture they were going to bring in. They told him they were going to put up curtains on the windows, a TV on the wall, Travis' Aunt Edie was going to bring over a sofa for his room, and they were going to set up his bed. Joseph got excited, but when he looked at his watch, he realized he was going to miss his flight home, so he thanked them for the tour and told them he was looking forward to living with them before he left." Joseph then left and headed for the airport. When Joseph got back home, he arrived just in time for dinner.
The narrator said, "For a whole year, Joseph looked for a girlfriend online, but every time he came across somebody, they always turned out to be a scammer who robbed Joseph of his money. Since Joseph thought finding love online was just a big line of trouble, even though his parents and sister told him over and over again, he gave it up."
The narrator said, "The next day, Megan had some exciting news, so she put on a special shirt for Joseph to read." Joseph read the shirt and it told him that Megan was pregnant, but he thought it was just a saying on her shirt. Megan then told Joseph she's actually pregnant, so he and his other brothers are going to be uncles, and their parents are going to be grandparents.
The narrator said, "Months went by, and Megan needed help since she was pregnant." One day, all of Travis' family, Travis' mother's family, but only Megan's parents and brothers arrived at Megan and Travis' new home, which was soon to be Joseph's new home. They all had a discussion together and guessed what Megan's baby would be. Everyone in the room guessed girl, except for Travis's aunt, who guessed boy. They stayed at Megan and Travis's house for hours and had pizza for dinner together. They could eat in the kitchen, outside, or in the living room.
A couple of months later, Joseph moved back to Transylvania and into the new house Megan and Travis bought. It took them about a week, but Joseph finally got all his stuff packed and over to Transylvania. The narrator said, "Once Joseph was settled, he saw he was missing a box." Joseph then phoned his father and asked if he knew where it was, because Megan had told him that their dad had made his shelf collapse, so he had to pack up Joseph's DVDs, making him the last one to see them.
Joseph, Franco, Travis, and Megan all got jobs in Transylvania so that they could pay for their houses. Joseph got a job caring for pets at the owners' homes. Megan got a job at a hospital. Travis got a job as a construction worker. Franco got a job at a daycare center, taking care of children, just like Joseph takes care of pets. Joseph was taking care of a dog and a cat at an old friend's house just down the street. While he was there, Joseph did precisely as the owner instructed for both pets.
The narrator said, "Once November came, Megan ended up in the hospital for a few days until it was time for the baby to come." When the day came, Megan and Travis got a baby boy, and they named him "Miller". Joseph couldn't be there since he was busy at work, but once he got home, he saw Megan holding the baby, and he got to hold and sing to him. Megan was curious about what song he was singing, because it sounded beautiful. Joseph told Megan where he heard the song he was singing, but he didn't know the name of the song.
The narrator said, "Ten months later, Amber went for a walk in town looking for monsters. While she was looking, Amber bumped into Joseph, and they both fell to the ground." When they looked at each other to see who they had bumped into, Joseph and Amber saw each other and recognized each other. Amber said, "Joseph?" Joseph said, "Amber?" Even though they had met years ago, Amber and Joseph recognized each other. Joseph then helped Amber up, and Amber looked at Joseph's chest, remembering the necklace he wore. Over the nights, Amber and Joseph spoke on Snapchat and Facebook Messenger. One night, Joseph and Amber spoke for a few hours until Amber finally decided to go to bed.
The next day, Joseph and Amber discussed their conversation with their friends from the previous night. Joseph said to Megan while sitting on their sofa, "Did you know she likes the same candies I do and that she likes to watch TV at night like I do?" Megan said, "No. Because there's something about that woman I don't trust." Amber was at her house with her friends, Tommy and Olivia, who were an official couple. Amber said, "Did you know he likes to write books and that vampires nearly killed him? But the strange thing is, he didn't tell me why. He told me it was a secret amongst the people who witnessed it." Olivia said, "No. I know he likes to play sports and is too kind for a boy like him."
Joseph then got a message from Franco and read it. Joseph read, "Hey, Joseph, I'm coming back from vacation tomorrow. Would you like to hang out this weekend?" Joseph typed out and said, "Gladly." Joseph then invited Amber to hang out with him and Franco this weekend, but Amber let it just be Franco and Joseph, because she said she didn't like going out with other people.
The next day, Joseph told Franco what Amber said, because he told him he had invited her to go with them, and how it could relate to a scene from a movie they had seen in theaters a couple of years ago together. After telling him which scene it was and how it could relate, Franco figured Joseph had a girlfriend, and he congratulated him. Joseph typed out, "Yes, I do. We're yet to go on a date, but we qualify ourselves as a couple." Joseph then continued caring for his friend's dog and cat.
The narrator said, "As Joseph was taking care of them, he wondered if he ever married Amber someday, she'd be willing to have pets like dogs, cats, and an aquarium of fish in their house. He was also hoping to have three kids, two twins and one individual to be exact, because three has always been his number. He was the third born in his family. He doesn't mind playing third wheel in his family; it's the number of days he spends at a friend's house to take care of their pets, and it's the number of kids and pets he wants when he gets a place of his own."
While everyone was working at their jobs, Amber went home and told her parents about the necklace she saw Joseph wearing. Gary said, "Are you sure it was The Pendant of The High Howlers?" Amber said, "Absolutely. I would know it anywhere." Wendy said, "Perfect. Then we have our first monster to kill." The narrator said, "Amber felt unsure if she should, but she was still mostly determined to kill all monsters, so she agreed."
