The next day, on August 31st, Amber messaged Joseph and asked him how the movie with Franco was. Joseph told her that it was awesome, and they continued their conversation. Joseph told Amber all about his day with Franco, and Amber was happy for the two of them. Amber had never seen Franco before, but she still didn't want to meet Franco. Joseph didn't like the fact that his new friend and his best friend didn't want to meet each other, but he had to deal with it. Every night for a week, Joseph and Amber conversed over Snapchat and Messenger. The narrator said, "Overnight, Joseph made a schedule on his calendar to make sure he didn't miss any appointments."
The narrator said, "The next week, on September 5th, something strange happened." Megan looked all around for Joseph and saw him washing the dishes in the kitchen, a smile on his face, and his amulet glowing a yellow hue. Megan said, "Joseph? Why are you doing the dishes?" Joseph said, "Just trying to be helpful. I also weeded the garden and did everyone's laundry." The narrator said, "Joseph showed Megan he washed, dried, and folded everyone's laundry, and gave the basket to her. When Joseph finished the dishes, he headed out." Megan said, "Where are you going?" Joseph said, "The gym. I'm meeting Franco there."
Joseph left and went to the gym with Franco. While they were there, they boxed each other. Franco punched Joseph, knocking him to the ground, but Joseph got up. Joseph said, "Now you're going to see why they call me 'The Big Bad Wolf'." Joseph and Franco continued to box each other while they spoke. Joseph punched Franco and said, "At least this fight is getting my anger out." Franco said, "I know how you feel. I used to have a little run-in with the cops every once in a while as The Slaying Mask." Joseph said, "Give me that again. Did you say you were THE SLAY..." Before Joseph could finish his sentence, Franco boxed him and gave him a black eye in an effort to make sure Joseph didn't give away his secret.
When they finished their fight, Franco took Joseph to the locker room and tried to do his best to fix his eye. Franco's watch then beeped, and he checked it. Franco said, "Oh man, I'm late for work." Joseph said, "I'll go visit my sister at work. Maybe she can heal me." Joseph went to the hospital, and Megan gave him some ointment for his horrible eye. Megan said, "There. That should do it." Joseph said, "Thanks." Joseph also got to put an eyepatch on his sore eye until it healed.
Once Joseph got home, he started to think about Amber while his necklace glowed pink and his tail wagged. When Joseph saw his tail wagging, he remembered that he had dogs to walk at the animal shelter where he works today. Joseph hurried over there, and when he arrived, he walked all the dogs he was supposed to and fed them as well. While he was working, Amber messaged him on Snapchat and asked him night after night if he was working, and he always said yes. Joseph worked all week and managed to fit in some exercise as well. On his final night working, he stayed up until 2:30 AM. He messaged Amber goodnight before going to bed, recording a video clip of people, saying goodnight to each other with the song "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" in the background. Joseph thought Amber would catch on. Before Joseph officially went to bed, he became thirsty, so he got up for a glass of water, drank it, and then went to the bathroom before going to bed.
The next morning, on September 6th, Joseph slept through his family texting each other, but then his alarm woke him up. The minute he woke up, Megan called him because he hadn't answered her text asking if he was awake. Joseph then answered, and Megan told him that they're leaving at 11:45 to see the family, so she wanted him up, dressed, and his teeth brushed by then. Joseph did everything on Megan's list, and they visited their family in North Dakota. Once they did, they got to have a small family reunion with their dad's family at their hotel, and they had fun talking to each other and playing with Miller, whom they had had for ten months. Joseph messaged Amber while they were at the hotel, and their conversation continued when Joseph went out to lunch with his family. Joseph was having a hard time keeping the internet connection at the restaurant, so he finished his burger, water, and soda. Still, he packaged up his fries to have for dinner because Megan was leaving the restaurant, and he felt he had to join her. So Megan and Joseph said goodbye to everyone and then went back home, with Megan so she could feed Miller and Joseph could exercise.
Once they got home, Megan and Joseph got out of the car and saw Travis trying to get into the house. Megan then got Miller out of the vehicle, while Joseph quietly exited. Joseph almost slammed the car door, but Travis reminded him to do it quietly so that Miller could sleep, so he saved the door and shut it quietly. Joseph then replaced his shorts with a pair of pants and walked three laps around their subdivision for an hour, just for some exercise.
The narrator said, "When Joseph got home, Megan and Travis had dinner while Joseph rested in the basement for a little while. When he finished, Joseph went upstairs and gathered stuff for his dinner." He gathered some lettuce and mandarins and cooked some carrots. He then ate in the basement, as he had a table and chairs set up down there. The basement was like Joseph's den. The narrator said, "Megan came downstairs and saw Joseph eating. When she did, she thought Joseph wasn't eating enough." Joseph said, "But I have fruits, veggies, and water. I'm human tonight, because there's no full moon, so I want to eat nutritious food today, and werewolves only eat meat, not fruits and vegetables." Megan said, "Yes, but it's not healthy to not eat as much. Maybe you could have some salami or cook the fries you brought home in your microwave." Joseph chose the fries, heated them in the basement's microwave, and ate them with the rest of his fruits and veggies.
When night came, Joseph had a conversation with Amber, and Amber thought they should go on a double date with her best friend, Olivia, and her boyfriend, Tommy. Joseph spoke to Tommy on Facebook that night, since they were already friends, and he asked if he and Olivia would like to go on a double date with him and Amber. Tommy agreed, but he also told Joseph that he would have to discuss it with Olivia after she got off work the next day. When it was time for bed, Joseph couldn't get to sleep because his heart was beating rapidly, as he couldn't wait for the next day to arrive. Since he was charmed, Joseph put on some love music and used it to help him fall asleep.
The narrator said, "The next day, Joseph found out his family was moving to Transylvania." So he and Megan just had to walk one block to get to their parents' house, but they had to go to the other side of town to see one of their brothers, because their other two brothers were staying with their parents.
Joseph and Amber had to wait until Olivia got off work at 2:00 PM for Tommy to talk to her. While they were waiting, Joseph got a text message from Megan asking him if he wanted to join them for dinner, since they're making hamburgers and hot dogs, and she knows how much werewolves love meat. Joseph texted her back and said, "Yes, please." After a bit of while, Amber received word that Olivia was talking to Tommy, so she informed Joseph. A little later, she received the update on the date and told Joseph that they couldn't go on their double date, so Joseph looked forward to having dinner with Megan and Travis. Amber then messaged Joseph about what he does at the animal shelter, and he told her that he takes care of the animals there, since he loves them. Amber asked him if he liked it. Joseph said, "Yes." Amber said, "Good."
Joseph continued to watch TV while he waited for his turn to do some laundry, but his sister was hogging the washer. Joseph then heard Miller fall, bump his head, and cry. Luckily, his parents were around to take care of him. Their dog, Pippin, then started barking, but Megan calmed the dog and the baby down. Even though Joseph was a dog too, he barely took an interest in socializing with Pippin as one. Joseph would only love and care for him as a human, like he usually does, even with other people's dogs. Joseph then used his hound hearing to listen more closely and heard Megan offering to take Miller for a walk, playing baby games like peekaboo, and saying how cute he was with him. Even though Megan was upstairs with Miller and Travis, and Joseph was in the basement alone, he could still hear her. Joseph then went upstairs for a minute and heard Megan singing "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" to Miller; he still heard her when he got back downstairs.
A little while later, their brother, Noah, came to visit, and he joined them for dinner. Before dinner, Joseph made another date with Amber, hoping it would turn into a double date with Tommy and Olivia. Amber decided they should see a movie, and Joseph gave her a few options; they agreed on the one Joseph had seen with Franco the other day. Joseph didn't mind seeing it again.
When dinner time came, Megan, Joseph, Travis, and Noah all had hamburgers, hot dogs, and bacon for dinner. Since they had Noah over, Joseph tried to drink his milk like a regular person, rather than drinking it like a dog. Joseph also had to use his hands to eat instead of just his mouth. While everyone was eating, Megan fed Miller and spoke to him as well.
After dinner, Noah left, and Joseph went for a bike ride while it was still somewhat light outside for exercise. He rode his bike around their subdivision for forty-five minutes, covering six laps. When he finished, he saw the garage was still open, Megan's car was still in the driveway, and the grill was still in the garage. Joseph then showered, spoke to Amber, and watched a movie until 2:30 AM. He also stayed up a little longer to finish putting together a LEGO puzzle, but he was missing a piece and couldn't find it anywhere, so he brushed his teeth and went to bed.
