Chapter 444 - 444: Gods

The staff in Whis's hand shimmered with prismatic light, enveloping Chiga and Lord Beerus before shooting them high into the sky.

Only after the trio vanished did the suffocating pressure lift, allowing everyone below to finally breathe again. The aura of both Lord Beerus and Chiga had been overwhelming—almost unbearable.

Lazuli's expression was tense with worry. Lapis stepped forward, patting her shoulder confidently.

"Don't worry, Sister. Brother-in-law's the strongest. I bet he'll beat that so-called God of Destruction until he's picking his teeth up off the ground."

Lazuli shot him a sharp glare, grabbing his ear.

"This is your fault, you idiot!"

"Ow, ow, hey, Sister! It's not my fault! That cat guy's got a short fuse. He's the one who started threatening people!"

Still worried, Lazuli released his ear and silently walked toward a large tree. Leaning against its trunk, she stared up at the empty sky. She would wait right there for Chiga to return.

---

Far away, at the boundary between the Sixth and Seventh Universes, a ripple of colorful light appeared out of nowhere. The radiance slowly faded, revealing three figures—Chiga, Beerus, and Whis.

Whis frowned, his tone uneasy. "Lord Beerus, isn't this too close to the Sixth Universe? If you two fight here, the aftershocks might spill over."

Beerus chuckled, rolling his shoulders. "That's the idea. If that glutton Champa gets upset, he can come deal with me himself. It's been too long since I gave him a proper lesson."

Whis sighed softly. The two brothers were endless trouble—children in divine bodies.

Beerus rubbed his hands together and grinned at Chiga. "Alright, let's get started. It's been ages since I met someone this interesting. Don't worry—I'll go easy on you. Even if you lose, I won't destroy you."

Chiga smirked faintly. "Because you said that, I'll hold back a little too."

Beerus didn't take the words seriously. As the strongest God of Destruction, he couldn't imagine losing to anyone but an Angel.

He glanced toward Whis, who lifted his staff horizontally between them. "Gentlemen," Whis announced, "are you ready?"

Both nodded. Whis's staff flashed once—signaling the start.

---

Two divine pressures erupted at once, shaking the fabric of space. Nearby planets trembled violently, their surfaces cracking as the sheer force threatened to tear them apart.

Purple light flared around Beerus. He raised a finger, condensing a massive sphere of golden destruction energy, and hurled it toward Chiga.

Chiga didn't move to evade. His fist glowed brightly as he struck forward—shattering the energy sphere into nothing.

Before the fragments faded, Beerus was already in front of him, his leg sweeping toward Chiga's abdomen. But a sudden repulsive burst erupted from Chiga's body, flinging Beerus backward before his strike could land.

Regaining his balance midair, Beerus looked up—only to see two beams of golden light shooting from Chiga's eyes. Unable to block with his body, he quickly condensed a black-purple orb of destruction energy. The two powers collided silently, annihilating each other on contact.

Beerus lowered his hand, eyes narrowing. "You're not ordinary. Could it be… you're also a God of Destruction from another realm?"

Golden light still flickered faintly in Chiga's eyes as he replied calmly, "There are no Gods of Destruction where I come from. I am the only god that exists there."

---

The next instant, Chiga vanished. Beerus barely had time to react before a sharp uppercut slammed into his jaw. Enraged, Beerus retaliated with a punch of his own, but Chiga sidestepped easily.

Their blows turned into a furious exchange—each strike carrying enough force to obliterate worlds. Planets shattered one after another until nothing but endless darkness surrounded them.

When the two finally paused, not a single celestial body remained in sight.

Beerus grinned, his excitement burning. "You're even stronger than I expected. But the warm-up's over. Now I'll show you what serious means."

He took a deep breath, relaxing every muscle. His energy stabilized as a soft silver glow coated his body, overlain with his distinct violet aura. There was no violent surge—only calm, divine stillness.

Chiga's gaze sharpened. "So this is Ultra Instinct, huh? As expected of the strongest God of Destruction—you've even mastered that."

Beerus blinked in surprise. "You recognize it? Don't tell me… you can use it too?"

Chiga smiled faintly. "Not exactly. I only know of it. But since you're showing your true power, I suppose I should respond in kind."

---

A silver tail uncoiled from around Chiga's waist. Beerus's eyes widened. "A silver tail? Don't tell me—you're related to the Saiyans?"

"Heh, not quite. I simply absorbed the power of a Legendary Super Saiyan named Broly."

Brilliant silver light erupted around Chiga. His long hair flared wildly, and two curved "horns" sprouted from his head. Beneath his torn clothing, silver fur crept across his chest, and a blazing aura engulfed him completely.

Whis's eyes narrowed. Even for an Angel, the pressure was suffocating. His fingers tightened around his staff, ready to step in if things went too far.

Beerus stared, disbelief flickering in his gaze. "You're kidding… A Saiyan reaching this level?!" He clenched his fists, realizing that even his Ultra Instinct suddenly seemed inadequate.

Chiga raised his hand and unleashed a blast of pure divine energy. The shockwave sent Beerus hurtling backward through space.

Growling, Beerus steadied himself, his aura intensifying as several beams of destruction energy shot toward Chiga.

Chiga's fists glowed with golden brilliance as he punched through each beam effortlessly, scattering them like dust. He vanished and reappeared beside Beerus, grabbing his ankle and slamming him through the void with overwhelming strength.

No matter how Beerus moved, Chiga's speed and power exceeded his own. Each punch rippled through space, fracturing reality itself. Multicolored cracks spread wildly across the void—signs that space-time was collapsing under their combined might.

---

Whis's calm demeanor faltered. He raised his staff, preparing to intervene before irreversible damage occurred.

Just then, a loud, irritated voice echoed through the cosmic emptiness.

"Beerus! What are you up to again? Some of us are trying to sleep!"

A plump figure identical to Beerus materialized nearby—his twin brother, Champa—his expression filled with exasperation.
