Chapter 9 - Ch:9 The Sun Warriors

He drove for two days and finally reached the island ot the sun warriors.

After this he put the small ship inside his inventory and looked around the island in search for the sun warriors.

There were amazing ruins in the style of the ancient maya in his old world. It was truly beautiful.

Noir was looking at him with an expectant gaze the whole time.

"Alright, you earned it" Akira said and threw him a big steak which he swallowed in one big bite.

Statisfied he followed behind him in search of the sun warriors.

To be honest he had no Idea where to look and he didn't want to look at the big mountain and straight out march into the cave of the dragons.

"Hello!!!" he screamed much like Aang did trying to attract the sun warriors.

Without being able to find them he eventually set his night camp in one of the old ruins only to wake up the next day with spears being pointed at him.

"Who are you and what ro you want?" the chief of the sun warriors said.

"I am Akira and I seek the true origin of fire bending" Akira said bowing respectfully "I never fueled my firebending with anger or hate but other emotions but I seek the very peak of firebending. Please let me be enlightened by the masters Rawn and Shawn"

"How do you know of them?" one kf the sun warriors said.

"He is a spy sent by the fire nation" another said but the chief raised his hand.

"How do you know of the masters?" he asked.

"I am the son of Iroh. Akira, the rebel prince of the fire nation" he said.

"Hmmm...alright, we'll leave the judgement of your fate to the two masters. But be aware, should they deem you unworthy of their teachings and see even a single trace of evil in your soul you will burn" the cief said and led him to a giant burning flame.

"This is the eternal flame. Our tribe kept it alive over millenia. Your task is it to bring this flame to the masters who are on top of this mountain and present it to them. Good luck" the chief said and gave him the flame.

Akira didn't have any problems handling the flame after all he reached the very peak of firebending.

He climed all the way up to the mountain until he reached the peak.

The other sun warriors were already there, waiting for him.

They then began to play drums and singing to wake the masters.

"You will now meet the masters, just go up the stairs and present your fire" the chief said but Akira caught on to the hidden meaning.

'Your fire' reffered to his way of fire bending. It wasn't just a test to bring a flame to the dragons but to show them his own interpretation of fire bending.

He ascended the stairs and waited in the middle for the dragons to come out already having decided on a performance for them.

The dragons then shot out of their caves and circled him.

To be honest he was quite nervous but he took a deep breath and began to bend his fire.

The fire took shapes of little butterflys who flied through the air and were as colourful as the rainbow.

He mixed his fire with different dosages of oxygen. Low oxygen created a red flame while high oxygen created a raging blue fire.

Even he himself was amazed at the beauty of his own bending and the dragons evenually landed on each sides of the stairs and spewed their fire.

Instead of burning him it circled around him and ahowed him the very essense of fire.

Fire had a direct connection to life and energy. Even if he already knew this this fire deepened his understanding about fire and it's meaning.

The fire then stopped and the dragons returned to their caves.

He felt it, he had now reached the very peak of fire bending, his eyes glowed red and iridecent fire lit up the entire sky.

It vanished as quickly as it appeared and he collapsed on top of the stairs.

"The chosen one has appeared" the chief muttered in awe "the one who reached the very peak of fire bending..."

Even the other tribe members stared at the child in shock but then began cheering loudly and carefully bringing the child down to their living quaters.

...

When Akira woke up he felt like his blood was burned and pain assaulted his entire body but when he looked at his arms he didn't saw a single wound.

"You have entered the state of absolute awakening, a state only accessible to someone of monstrous talent and understanding of fire. To be able to reach this state at your young age was something never seen before" the chief said "You should rest for now, according to the ancient texts your chi pathways have been widened and adjusted to hold the true essence of fire. The pain will fade eventually but before that you mustn't use any kind of fire bending, it could damage your chi pathways do you understand?"

Akira just nodded and geoaned at the stabbing pain "How long will this pain last" he asked.

The chief just looked at him and grinned "No idea" he said "you should stay here for a while and recover"

"Thank you for letting me whitness this" Akira said.

"You shouldn't thank me but the masters. By the way I am Tairo, nice to meet you" he said and left through the door.

Akira just groaned in pain as a new wave of pain assaulted him and he lost consciousness again.

For a month he was in constant pain but he still followed the sun warriors in everything they did, joining them on the bonfire and telling them his story.

He was treated by them like some kind of god incarnate on earth and it really took a while to get used to each other but they slowly grew more bold and soon treated him like any other sharing their own stories with him and showing him breathing exercises and meditation for firebending without actual firebending because he was still banned from it by the chief.

It kind of frustrated him but there was nothing he could do until after a month the pain finally faded and he summoned a ball of flames in his hand.

But it wasn't blue like normal but shone in all the colours of the rainbow and was only warm and not burning hot.

This was the flame of life and he instinctively knew that this power wasn't something for fighting or destruction but for healing.

He honestly didn't know such a power existed and he was staring at the multi coloured fire in awe.

'It looks like I am done here' he thought and got up, followed closely by Noir as a little black cat.

"It seems like our time together is over" Tairo said.

"Please allow me to give you one last gift, an ancient tattoo like the masters of the airbenders recieve it. It is an almost forgotten privilege for masters of fire to recieve it" he said guiding Akira to a gathering of the whole tribe.

"Today our brother will recieve his symbol of honour, his mark as a master of fire" Tairo said loudly and turned to Akira.

"Raise your right arm" he said and Akira did as he was told.

A weird liquid then shot forward out of a pot and latched on to his right arm that now showed a black coiling dragon on his entire right side and shoulder.

"You will be forever welcome at out tribe and please keep our existence a secret" Tairo said and Akira bowed to him "of course"

he then took Noir and winked evervone before he left with his boat to Kyoshi island where he planned to wait for the Avatar.

To reach Kyoshi island he would need to cross fire nation territory so he cut his hair shorter took out a staff and a big straw hat out of his inventory together with casual clothes of the fire nation.

Yes, he was quite a collecter of everything he found interesting. He also had uniforms of firebending soliders or casual civilian clothing of all four nations exept the air tribe because he didn't like being half naked all the time that much.
